Making Clans Made Clear

#1 The steps to making a clan for players who are interested. There is no actual registration for a clan, its made here, follow the steps. Step 1: The first step that anyone who wants to make a clan is to ask themself if they really want it. To make a clan and keep it running, it take time and effort. If your not prepared to be extremely active and to not give up when things get tough, than it might not be for you. Be prepared to be committed. Be sure this is something that you really want and are prepared for. Step 2: After being sure your committed, its time to come up with a name. Make it original, something that no one has come up with. Check the official clan list to make sure the name isn't already taken. Step 3: Once you have the name, you need either find or make a symbol. Whether its the initials of your clan such as TIA, or an actual symbol such as Hebi's symbol, it should be something different and something that can be fitted well for avatars and signatures. (Optional but Recommended)Step 3.5: After you have finished with that, the next step is to find an initial supporter(s). Having one or two people to help you set up your clan and who will remain in the clan with you is something that will help a lot. They should also be dedicated, and should be trusted, and should be able to help with things you can't do. If you can't do GFX, FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN, NOW Step 4: The next step is very important. Most members are looking for a clan with a private forum somewhere, without one, people won't be interested Without one, it will be harder to talk. Your not allowed to chat on a clan page, so a chatbox and a private forum are important. The best site that i have found for this is Invisionfree.com, it takes a while to set up, but works well. Be sure to make sub-forums (such as the clan sectoin on this site) for all the squads, news, general discussion, and off-topic discussion. Other sub-forums are up to you, and most sites have more than I stated, but those will be necessary. PUT IN A CHATBOX (Warning: after iniatial making, it is important to not re-configure everything at once, it can mess up the site) Step 5: The next step is to begin to make up a clan page/clan recruition page respectively. You should set it up outside of N-B. Clan Pages are important, its the first thing that possible recruits are going to see when you post it, so it has to be good. Be sure to save the pages somewhere on your comp, artvious13 warned us of a clan topics cleaning. There should be several catagories shown: ~Requirements to join (NEEDED) ~Rules (NEEDED) ~Contact ~GFX ~Members ~Squads ~ect.... There are just suggestions, but the better clan pages will include them in small bursts so people will read them. Usually, each will be headed with a GFX mini-banner and the top will have a clan banner including your clan name and symbol. ~NOTE: Squads are something found in many clans. They allow you to organize the clan members as well as make squad leader positions to be the people who can help moderate the private forum, hold positions of power in the clan, and help take in suggestions and help with the admin/mod aspects of the clan. Some of those original members that helped you start out may be good for these positions. ~NOTE: NO CHATTING ON THE CLAN PAGE OR CLAN RECRUITION PAGE Step 6: Recruit, its that simple. The clans that survive are generally exclusive ones in which members are only in one clan. There are a few ways to recruit. Here's a list: ~The Recruiting Page ~Putting a link to recruiting page siggy and put a note under it saying to click ~Friends that are clanless are a great way to recruit, but be sure they meet the requirements, no one like special treatment. ~Looking for prospects, than after you find out they're clanless, a PM *REMEBER, DO NOT SPAM RANDOM INVITATIONS ON TOPICS **BE SURE TO RECRUIT GFXERS ***ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS FROM POTENTIAL MEMBERS/ AND CURRENT MEMBERS ****NEVER GIVE LINKS DIRECTLY TO YOUR PRIVATE SITE FOR EVERYONE TO SEE *****!!!!!!*****ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR RULES, DO NOT MAKE EXCEPTIONS, THIS IS HOW CLANS DIE. Step 7: Your clan is basically made now, but now you have to be sure to assign squads, make clan siggys/clan avas, and anything else you find necessary to finish your initial set up. Step 8: This is to maintain your clan. Here are things that you will need to do: ~Have wars regularly ~Have clan sponsered tournies regularly ~Always have higher-ups including yourslef available to answer questions ~Continue recruiting, its going to have to happen for a long time ~Continue squad placement, perhaps make new squads as you expand ~KEEP RECRUITING GFXERS!!!!! ~Keep activity on both the chatbox and the forum ~Allies are something to think about, but are not something to stress about ~NEVER USE MY BANNER MAKER ~Perhaps a youtube video, recruiting videao? ~Voice Casts (I've lately expirimented with this by making sound files of me saying news and putting it on youtube after adding some video/pics. Its a pretty coo idea, and feel free to steal it, but remember, it was mine first...well...not really, but it was my idea second) ~Refer to Dara's thread in the General Clan Discussion section, it is stickied, parts of it will be vevry helpful, but, im not going to plagerize it.
