Hello, fellow members. I hope your holidays are going well. As you can see from the title, I'm here to discuss a foreseeable update to the staff. With the new year coming, the moderation staff finds ourselves with less moderators than we'd like. We have tried public recruitment a little while ago and liked the results we had from it. We're giving it another try, so, if you're interested in becoming a moderator, please read the information below.

Before you get to the application, you must understand the following instructions.

- The deadline for sending in applications is January 7th, 2014.
- You send your applications by private messaging DasakeUchiha.
- Being a moderator is a self-rewarding task where you are expected to be responsible, active and unbiased.
- Sharing information about your answers or any reply you may get from us is divulging classified information.
- All applications will be reviewed by the current staff and voted on to see who will make it to the second phase.
- If you are accepted for the second phase of the recruitment, then you'll be private messaged by a Global Moderator.
- Answer each part of the application to the best of your ability, with honesty and understanding what you're applying for.
- Being a moderator means you can speak English fluently. You can, however, be assigned to a Great Ninja Country section if you speak other languages.

You may be immediately rejected from the second phase of recruitment if you fall under one or more of the following circumstances.

- If you have committed site offenses.
- If you have been warned or banned several times.
- If you made your account within the past 6 months.
- If you were demoted from the moderator position before.
- If you are found sharing your information with other people.
- If you fill out any part of the application with false information.

If you want to be a moderator, and understand all the things described to you above, please fill out the following application.
Moderator wrote:
Personal information:

- What is your first name?
- How old are you? When is your birthday?
- What country do you live in? What is your timezone?

Naruto-Boards information:

- Your username?
- Your alternate accounts?
- Why do you want to be a moderator?
- How active are you on naruto-boards?
- Define what it means to you to be a good moderator.
- What do you think of current moderators as a whole?
- What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?
- How well do you know the forum rules? How well do you know the section rules?
- What section do you want to be a moderator of? (You may list more than one, but listing many will not help your chances)
- What else do you wish to put into your application that does not fall under the above questions but you feel can help your chances?

Sample moderator question:

- A friend of yours approaches you in private messages to let you know that he has been posting on Naruto-Boards while banned with his [insert username] account, but will not do it anymore because he doesn't want to get in trouble. What is your reaction as a moderator?

That will do it for now. You may ask questions on this topic, however nothing else is permitted to be here. That means you must not post your applications, random comments or anything else on this topic. We have the right to delete anything from this topic. Thank you for sending in your applications and we wish you good luck and happy holidays.

No Reserved Posts on here please. You're PMing your applications to DasakeUchiha.

If you have actual questions about this process, post them on this topic and they will be answered appropriately by a Global Moderator.

Re-read the first post again, please. You're PMing your Applications to DasakeUchiha, not posting them here. Thanks !

@Itachixtsukuyomi: Everyone has a chance to be a moderator if their past allows. If you're interested, then just follow the steps above.

Nope. This is a thread for application Q&A and applying to be a moderator yourself; do not nominate others here. If they are interested, or you know someone that is, tell them to check here if they haven't seen the thread.

Why should the past of someone affect so much that process? Don't you think if someone has different responsibilities his behavior would change?

Does NB Award Nominations have to do anything with this?

Like if someone wins for example Debater of the Year award, does that increase his chance to become a mod in that section?

that's what I was thinking as well. Anyways this is an interesting idea and I could definitely think of some people who deserve to be mods. GL to everyone that applies.

Past preceeds the future, and it is something we will always look into when selecting Moderators. Everyone is encouraged to try if they would like to be apart of the staff, though. We want to see capable people before they have the title, not having to change themselves to step in new shoes!

These nominations are being done for fun, they will not influence mod selection but can be noted as a 'highlight' of your NB career (something you could add in your Application)

Don't you think someone might act aggressive towards the staff only because he doesn't approve what they do and not because of other reasons? He won't be stepping in "new shoes". Shouldn't be people over looked for present only and not past?

Regardless of intentions. Your past when you apply will be looked into -- this isn't something new, we've always done this in the past and won't need to be changed.

No need to ask more questions about something that's been explained, in the future.

I think this is a great idea. I've sent one in and looking forward to the results.

My question: One of the deal breakers is whether or not you've had your account registered for more than 6 months. I was wondering if that covers only the boards or if it covers N-a itself. Ex. If someone battled a buuuuunch dating back to before the server crash, but never really went onto the Boards until recently, would that be a deal breaker?
