I fixed the link. Didn't want the guy to feel bad and getting his topic overlooked due to bad linking. You were first, so there you go. Stickied.

Aside from some redundant speeches, nothing happened. I really expected something more, because we already know why Naruto is fighting. We've only been reminded about 500 times, but it was great to see Orochimaru be good for once, even if he's not trying to be.

The main question Kishi has posed inadvertently throughout the series and then very obviously in the Pain arc, is the whole cycle of hatred thing. Which isn't just Kishi's question but is a key point in Buddhism particularly.

Well, Shintoism is synonymous to Buddhism and Kishi lives in Japan; so what do you expect?

In the Pain arc Naruto had no answer for this at all. He saw Pain's point, submitted, and let the kyuubi go on a destructive rampage. As the series has gone on he's talked about finding a solution, and as he's growing up he's appeared to understand the world more. And now finally, at the climax of the series, when seeimgly asked the question for the final time, the best we get is "its my ninja way". No real reasoning or logic, we're back to pre-ship Naruto, who said the same shit in the first half a dozen episodes, wtf was the point of developing his character...

I believe that is classified as foreshadowing :oh :oh :oh :oh

Well, not really. Foreshadowing is a little different. But still, yeah, this was supposed to be the moment he'd been leading up to for years and years. Faced against the final villain, with the biggest question of all, and Naruto gives the same baseless answer he gave way back when.

He made the Buddhism thing to obvious. I expect some real symbolism not obvious symbolism. I mean come one each path of pein is a reference to the 6 paths of reincarnation. Way to obvious

@Chapter: Wow this nostalgic feeling. Just think it's been 650 chapters and naruto has changedquite a bit. From Overactive Nucklehead to The Wise Powerful Orange Hokage. It's even more of a nostalgic feeling to see everyone join together like that. I mean 649 and 650 are meant to g together for that very reason. Even Sakura played a huge part and released the byakugou. Orochimaru joining in was expected at some point. Orochimaru wasn't just going to sit watch in this and let his precious experiments get away. As for Kakashi. When he said that to himself I had this weird feeling that Obito was going to join on to there side to defeat Madara and the Juubi which would be cool in a way. Speaking of Obito is acting more and more like Aizen every minute.

Very Cool Chapter I like it. :cool

Boring chapter again. The only way Kishi can redeem himself if someone dies next chapter.

This chapter was fairly redundant, nothing really new happened. It's nice to see Sakura, Orochimaru, and Kakashi actually getting some positive light, though. Especially Orochimaru, I'm actually appreciating how Kishi is writing him right now (not a "good guy", but is helping out due to his own interests).

What caught me off the most, though, was Sasuke, specifically his Sharingan seen here.
Maybe I missed something in a prior chapter and his Sharingan has looked like that before, but it's the only thing in this chapter that seriously caught my attention.

Chapter was meh overall, here's hoping the next chapter is as good as Kishi is making it seem.

Huh. They just look a little off to me or something, but alas. Suppose that's what I get for being up at 5 AM reading manga.

I hope they don't fuse or whatever the hell Kishi wants to call it. This is not Dragon Ball Z.

I liked Orochimaru's part in this chapter as well as Kakashi's. I just hope Obito doesn't turn good due to the phrase, "it's my ninja way". He started the war over some dead girl who didn't love him, but he cannot end it on that reasoning alone. I sincerely hope Obito does not make it out alive by the end of Naruto.

Sasuke's Susano'O and Naruto's Kurama powers are going to fuse, there's just no way Kishi isn't going to with how much he's been teasing it. Back in the Zabuza arc when they perfectly synergized the Demon Windmill Shuriken and Shadow Clone, as well as the multiple times Naruto and Sasuke have combined Naruto's Rasenshuriken with Sasuke's Amaterasu. It's just too much teasing for Kishi not to act on it.

As far as Obito is concerned, I agree. He's been the one character so far (with the possible exception of Madara) who has been entirely evil since his introduction as a main villain character. For him to do a 180 just because of Naruto or Kakashi seems entirely uncharacteristic, and if that truly happens, I'm giving up on Naruto for good.

I'm personally expecting Madara to gain control over Obito and the Jubi and become its Jinchuuriki himself. Madara's been sidelined for too long after being such a big deal, he's going to stick his nose back into things soon.

I think that's what kakashis whole dialogue was about. Him realising that he can't let Obito live
