Welcome to the 24th week trial of Character of the Year. The purpose of this contest is to decide who has made the best character within a year of work by requiring criticisms for our fellow Naruto-Boards members, and of course improve ourselves in character making and have fun. This is a voting topic so all you have to do is vote... respecting the rules of course.

Banned from voting:
-VanillaGFX
-SasukeChidori93
-Goldwolf04
-kyuubinaru
-Hokage_753

Read the voting rules! It's very easy to break a rule unwillingly!

Voting Rules and Mode of Voting:
Your votes must mention something about each character. (Eg: I like how character x deals a lot of damage and how character y has great defensive...)
You must specify why you consider the character you vote better than the other two character(s). (Eg: I consider that character x is better, because unlike the other characters, he deals an average amount of damage with simple costs, keeping up with his flow, but the other two have messy high amount of damage that are just an excuse to make the character original)
Your decision may not be based solely on pictures. (Eg of what you should not do:
#3 character has better pictures than the other two. Their pictures are LQ and lame. #3 is for me)
If you mention something about the balance of a character, you must exemplify why you consider that character.(Eg: First character is much better than the second because he is balanced. Unlike 2nd character that can go invulnerable for 5 turns in a row, this character is simply awesome, he just deals the right amount of damage and has the right amount of defense.)
If you mention something about the flow of a character, you must exemplify the flow of the character.(Eg: I prefer first character's flow because you can use 1st and 2nd skill in order to create a gigantic amount of defense and then use 3rd skill in order to succesfully stun the opponent for a great amount of turns. Anyway, 2nd character lacks any kind of flow, which I dislike. All that character's skill are randomly thought effects)
Originality may not be used as a reason to vote, but it can still be mentioned in votes. (Eg of what to not do: This character is original. VOTE VOTE VOTE #3 VOTE!!
Oversimplified/Overcomplicated character may be used as a reason, as long as you explain why the character is too complicated or too simple. (Eg: First character is too simple, because it only has simple and plain effects, while the second character is too complicated, because it has too many effects that are placed there randomly)
The design of the template does not count if that's the sole reason you vote for one character. The pictures will also count in this category, if mentioned, so they won't count as something else if mentioned in the vote.
•If a character is chakra heavy and you consider it a bad thing, you must explain how it influences the character badly, according to the character's skills. (Eg: This character's offensive skills are way too costly and they shouldn't cost that much, because the chakra type for them is really hard to gain. It will take hours to even cast a skill of theirs. Their defensive skill doesn't really help much, since he's solely based on offensive, which mostly cannot be used.)
•You may only vote for one character.
•You may not vote for yourself, unless the group contains only your character. You won't need to give any reasonings if they are your characters.
•You may not empty quote or copy any of the votes already given or say in your vote, I agree with person x.
•You may not vote if your post count is under 500 posts.
•You may not vote if your account is not two months old.

1.
the separate stacking of the first skill is an old but reliable concept, and it works for the character.

i got a glance on him before but reading him this time around, i feel his balance and text still need improvement due to the 3rd and 4th skills (sorry if i just noticed now...).
the 3rd skill is a bit OP with that reflection effect, though it scales down going into the lategame... maybe if it only shared and not redirected effects, it would be more balanced.
the 4th skill's wording should have included "cannot be used while active" or "cannot stack" because as it is, it can be spammed until the cooldown begins and it does hurt his balance.

despite that, he does have a great flow and his concept is pretty neat overall.

2.
he's a tank who deals small dmg initially and slowly builds up to be a spiker.

the good thing is his balance is ok with his dmg boosts resetting and he has a passive damage reduction effect that is not reduction per se to make up for his slow build up (piercing and affliction are halved as well).

my only gripe with the character is the last sentence on the passive. "rounded up to 0" is impossible because 0 is always lesser than any value... maybe the creator should've used "rounded up to the nearest 10s"

his flow is great nonetheless.

---

both have issues of their own, but they're still ok characters. i liked the first character's concept better, but overall i felt that the second character was more controlled in terms of its effects and was balanced better despite using a passive.

i vote for the second character as the winner.

1. Sho

I like this character and how it flows with the the (N!) Factoral.
The die skill could use a possible cooldown or something.
Radian could use an extra cooldown by 1 or a random added to it.
Maybe set a cap on Zetta Slow if it's healing or something, I think it should be a little more specific when it talks about Friendly skills and have various effects with that.

2. Juugo

I liked this character, I didn't really see any problems. It seemed to flow perfectly and nothing too OP or to UP.

2 has my vote.

Character 1

-> A triggering character, which is all about dealing the 5 + 5 + renewing effect combo, is clear that the whole character main starting combo is the 1st and 2nd skill, with the 1st removing the restrains on the 2nd, which applies the latter on all enemies, and then the trick begins, forcing the enemy to attack via the use of the 4th skill, and the 3rd skill in my eyes is just a bonus to mess up with any possible defense against him. The only bad point I see in this character would be the many "N!" that can be triggered while renewing its duration ( that's what I understood by "new", correct me if I'm wrong, cuz if that's not what it means, I don't see the point in stating it, cuz otherwise it would be stacking like any other skill), thus making it somewhat OP given enough time, since all others skill uses "N!" as a sort of driver for their skills.

Character 2

First of all, keep in mind that I'm ignoring the joke on this character. Having said that, a simple but still complex character, all about damage boosts provided by his own skills, with Normal boosting Piercing and Piercing boosting Normal with the 3rd skill boosting both, resetting said boosts if the 1st and 3rd skills are overused, nice way to keep it balanced, and of course, the 4th skill is there to mainly keep it on the game while he stacks up a decent amount of damage ( we all hate one shotters). One small thing that I noticed, would be the use of the words "your" and "you" on the character, this is something I honestly think is pretty stupid, cuz with "your" you could mean my whole team, you could mean myself - the person ( for more stupid that this sounds, is the truth), but of course I won't be dump enough to down-grade this entry for something that even a 7th grader would understand.

Final Say

Entry one is out, not for being a bad entry at all, but simply because entry 2 outmatches it in most of ways, like a better control over each skill, not too much, but not too less. And also entry 2 is way more balanced than the 1st.

So yeah, entry 2 got my vote.

Character #1
This character's main skill is the 1st which deals 5 damage for 3 turns which seems really weak and unreliable but its actually not bad at all since it triggers on enemies who use a skill on Sho himself or any of his allies + his 2nd skill helps in spreading the infection by activating it on enemies who are not affected by it. His 3rd skill reflects enemy friendly skills to him and if it successfully reflected a skill with this skill, the latest set of the 1st skill which is active on the enemy who had a his skill reflected, will last an extra turn. I feel that the cooldown of this skill is too high considering what it does and i don't think that its reliable since it depends on who u use it on and when u use it, it only works if the target uses a skill on his ally and that does make quite unreliable. The 4th skill deals 5 damage to all enemies until they use a skill on Sho and if they do, the 1st skill will trigger on them (if its active ofc). As a whole i think he is a decent character.

Character #2
This character has a basic concept but done a bit differently than the usual, the concept revolves around improving the damage of the 1st & 2nd skills and the 3rd skill benefits from it by dealing 200% of the improvement to one enemy as piercing and 200% of the improvements as normal damage + it gives an additional 10 damage improvement both normal and piercing, i find this skill skill really OP because of the high damage amount it can deal after a few turns of using the 1st and 2nd skills and the fact that it doesn't have a cooldown + it increases the damage improvements, the damage/health dealt/stolen by the passive kinda makes things even worse for the enemy. As a whole this character is pretty good and well done despite the fact that it has a basic concept and a balance issue.

Decision
Both characters could be a bit slow but Character #2 gets my vote because all of his skills are reliable unlike character #1 and its more effective than character #1 in my opinion because it leaves a bigger impact not that character #1 isn't effective but it was simply outmatched by character #2.

This vote doesn't count. The rest do. The second character won.
