I personally think they'd tie.

Itachi has Susano'o, sure, Nagato has six different abilities he can specialize in though. Izanami would be amazing, but it costs an eye, and physical contact. Nagato with the Shinra Tensei could keep physical contact to a minimum. Then again you have Itachi's ninjutsu, but the Preta path. They'd constantly 1-up each other. Depending on if Itachi still has Shisui's eye would be a great factor too though..

Nagato would beat Itachi. The Rinnegan is just too overpowered. But if Nagato instead used his Paths, then Itachi would win.

Nagato would probably win. He was the leader you can say of the akatsuki grunts for a reason. Sure Itachi would put up a good fight, but Nagato has too much stamina and too many different abilities.
