Feminists aim to make sexual things in the media unacceptable. For example, feminists hate all of those advertisements on television that objectify women. Pretty much anything in media that shows women as sexy is hated on by feminists.
Guess who else is against this sort of media? Religious groups like the catholic church.

Feminists always say that we need to redefine what it is to be a man. They say that men see being violent as being manly because we are brought up in a society that teaches that violence is manly. Christianity does the same thing. They say that Christian men should try to be more like Jesus. We should not be violent and not be lustful. A difference between christianity and feminism is that feminism doesn't really give a clear outline as to what men should be.

Feminists claim things in society to be wrong without explaining what makes something wrong. Anyone that has studied philosophy should know that all arguments about morality should be flushed down to a moral code. For example, someone that believes in kantian ethics will disagree with a utilitarian on some issues. Religions usually claim things to be wrong without having an explanation for why it is wrong. The explanation in Christianity's moral code is that said it's wrong. God never explains why it is wrong.

Oxford Dictionary's definition of Cult:
-a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or as imposing excessive control over members.

Based on the above information it seems that Feminism is a cult.

You can't be serious. Only because I am opposed to seeing women showing their breasts on TV for their money, I am a feminist? I want women do display their intelligence and skills in something other than making us get boners, because today, that's what pretty much everyone means by sexyness.

I am opposing to that one fact, not to the entire statement.

I said feminists are opposed to seeing women showing their breasts on TV. I didn't say that if you are also opposed that you are a feminist.

Well, according to the Oxford Dictionary's definition of Cult:
-a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or as imposing excessive control over members.

The entire human race is not a small group of people. It is the biggest group of people you could possibly come up with.

I still that part either unnecessary or unneeded, since most male enjoy breasts and would sweep a look each time they get the chance. Anyway:

Wouldn't a cult require some little organization and actual cooperation between members? Being feminist is something general nowadays and it's left off because of how women were regarded over time. Claiming feminists as a cult, seems a little over the edge. If they were performing at least something such as a meeting discussing their "phylosophical" views about women, So, no, feminism isn't a cult. Feminism can be regarded at mostly an "almost belief" for narrow people.

I don't understand how Feminists would be considered "A relatively small group of people,"
And I don't see how men only consider themselves manly, if they are violent. Actually, I see a lot of guys trying to get violent, and if it's not on a tv show, I find it to be rather hilarious, and unmanly.
Not to mention most guys thought it was cool to wear jeans so tight, you could pretty much see their package a few years ago. Just a thought.
imo, a man should be whatever a man wants to be... The only thing that makes them men, the way I see it, is by having a penis. If they consider themselves woman, even if they have a penis.. Well, then they're a woman. Whatever the fuck each individual wants.
I don't really understand what you said. I can't tell if you're saying Feminists think men should be violent to be manly, or if you're saying everyone other than Feminists think men should be violent to be manly. idk.

Either way, I'm going off topic. I don't see Feminism as being a cult, by looking at the definition you shared of it. Definitely not a relatively small group.

Also, I agree with SvN.

Feminists do organize events and have small groups where they discuss their beliefs.

Also, I am using the Oxford dictionary's definition of cult to define Feminism as a cult so claiming that a cult is actually something else is quite ineffective unless if you can show the Oxford dictionary as wrong.

Listen, I do not deny that there might not be people that state their opinions or even their beliefs around the inequality of the sexes. I don't see why you have to bring out that dictionary since feminism, if it'd be to be regarded this way, wouldn't be a small group and it would be something international. I also bet that even if some are antagonistic on women, they aren't doing practices against the women. I also can't see how they impose excessive control over members, since even if they were a cult, if you're not part of it or do not have knowledge from it, you may not know that. There might be cults with actual feministic ordeals, but feminism as a whole may not be considered a cult.

Also, a little off topic, but I wanted to make some things clear.
You started by comparing Feminism to the Catholic church, but then went on to compare them to Christians.

Are you giving examples of how they are alike to two different Religions, or are you not aware that they are not the same Religion?

This statement is very professional.

Like SvN said, feminism as a whole can't be categorized as a cult because there are different feminists who believe in different things. They don't all serve the same purpose or have the same goals.

I did agree with you, but then I started thinking about it. (IDK)

What I am saying is that Feminists believe that society has created an idea that violent men are manly. That violence is a masculine thing. If you did not know this you are obviously not a feminist or you are not a very good feminist.

Saying that they are not a small group is a good argument. However, you did not explain why they are not a small group. I personally see feminist groups in my community as being small. There certainly are a lot of people that share a lot of feminist beliefs that are not feminists. For example, not everyone that believes in gender equality is a feminist. What portion of the world population do you really think is feminist? I think it is very small. I have travelled to places in Europe and Asia and honestly I did not see much of a feminist movement there. In fact, there seems to be more of a divide in gender roles in less developed countries.

Those are called sects. If you have a cult that breaks up into smaller groups, your cult is still a cult.
