Question:

How do you feel about current game prices (60 euros where I live)

Would your buying habits change if games were priced more cheaply/or more expensively.

My buying habits would definitely change if games were cheaper. I think there are some games which are brutally overpriced.

70€ for Asura's Wrath? bitch, please.

Yea I seem to buy much more games on Steam, eshop, app store..etc

I supposes with a smaller retail price, there would lead to more less featured games and more bad use of dlc.

The upside is that many like me feel there is a rise in quality of the games that are released. $60 for me limits me to only get the games that I truly want instead of wasting it. I think it might change my habits as a buyer if the prices were dropped, but may also change my habits as a gamer.
To honor my 6th anniversary, I will not use Luvixi for an entire day. Yippee.

With the generations changing, and the demand for video games always rising (like technology), kids and teens are always asking for more and more games. Companies like to take stuff like this to their advantage, by raising the prices and whatnot. It's like how they create new consoles and makes the preceding console obsolete by not creating games for it afterwards.

I think that the prices should lower. With PC games, more people are turning to pirated or torrented versions, saving them so much money. Especially games with a storyline that doesn't take too long to complete. I mean, I know I brought several games, finished it within 2 days, and never touched them again. (such as Dishonored and ACR) If they want to stop people from illegally obtaining games, they should make the storyline length worth the $60-70.

Well if prices lower one may also have to look at the value of games they buy decrease or I suppose lack the same amount of content as a 60 or + game. The sense of scope seems to be getting bigger and bigger each year and I have no doubt that next generation games would cost upto 70/80 + euros but I suppose that's the value you would get from amazing graphics, fully rendered explorable worlds etc...The app store is a good example of a service in which games are priced quite small but the substance is also pretty basic.

It's not worth the bucks, man. Rent it and get the next AC game if it's any good. Just a tip.

Anyway, yeah I think games are a bit overpriced, but it's business. As long as people are willing to pay the amount they're charging they're gonna keep selling 'em at that price.

I usually wait till it get's lower to atleast 40 bucks. Other than that unless I want the game it's worth my money such as NUNS3 which I preorder'd. If you want COD I suggest you wait cause you might be disappointed. it'll be 54.99 then after x-mas dunno.

not really, game sales are down larger than they've ever been while successes like Gta and Cod still show on the headlines.I mean imagine if games were priced like 30/40 euros then the non-holiday season games like Catherine etcwill have a chance to see to a much larger userbase...although the price would be a smaller revenue for the developers.

Maybe where you're living. I've yet to see the gaming industry suffering from lack of sales. CoD alone incites enough people to wait in line at a packed Gamestop for hours. The problem is that certain games just aren't worth their full price.

but that's a very specific game franchise who manages to pull out those numbers. It's like saying if 10 apples are rotten and 1 is not then that validates the current system.
