The reason why Kakashi killed Rin.

#1 Ok. So Kakashi & Rin were surrounded by a bunch of Anbu and Jounnin level ninjas. Kakashi is just 1 average Jounnin against them. Why did he end up killing Rin? Especially when Obito already stated that he LET her die? Is this a plothole? The hell not! You can't possibly tell it is a plothole without even know the reason behind an event. Let me now give my opinion on why he killed Rin. There are 2 options: 1 - He was forced 2 - He was forced First of all, does anyone even remembers Kisame's flashbacks? Did you see what happened? Indeed.. he was on a mission and was ambushed by a Konoha team, and in order to protect his mission and prevent for any possible secret information to leak he killed all his comrades. (Who else other than Obito understand Kisame's situation btw) So I guess you got a clue why Kakashi was forced to do that. Kakashi always valued missions highly. Obito said that Kakashi let Rin die, and not that he killed her because he knew that is not that Kakashi wanted to kill her, but he had no choice but to kill her to protect some valuable information that if it falls in enemy's hands it could cost more lives than just one. Kakashi had to be rational in his decision, so he chosed the one with the least consequences, but bearing her death on his shoulder. (Some Itachi-like decision) That's why Obito doesn't blame Kakashi, but he blames this reality that made Kakashi take that decision. Hope I made sense.

#3 I think that the Mizukage who could control people ( I think it is Yagura), controlled Kakashi and forced him to kill Rin. I think Obito blames Kakashi cause he wasn't strong enough to save her. I think it also explains why Tobi was controlling the Mizukage for so long and created the Bloody Mist era for so long--to take revenge on him for killing Rin. I thik thats a possible explanation c:. #4 Maybe a Genjutsu image of a leaf ninja appeared in front of Rin and..... Whoops (WARY). Maybe they were surrounded and Rin was like. "O.M.G. Kill me before they get da info." and after 2 chapters of futher thinking of Kakashi thinking on his decision. Then. Yea. 'That'. My stupid DA for stupid people like you.

#6 1st add a spoiler, 2nd maybe that was the plan of madara, remember zetsu cand take the chakra and form of anyone,.... that was planned by madara to make obito come to him, madara needed him for his plan.... #7 Madara did clearly say, he was gonna meet him again. Clearly. There's more to it. Still though, I believe only on the solo statement You let rin die. “A foolish person will be known by several things: Anger without cause, speech without thought, change without progress, inquiry without reason, thought without action and dishonesty without conscience.”

#8 I think he was being controlled by a genjutsu too.. I doubt he would kill Rin to prevent her from spilling information.

#9 Madara corrupted Obito to make him think Kakashi killed him...It would explain why Madara appeared soon as Obito took off his mask. He don't want them to compare notes.

#13 I also think it is a scheme by Madara. Reason: White Zetsu knew to well about the situation and the location so he could have interjected at any moment. Also, remember when Obito had the small vision of Rin's death while cloaked by White Zetsu? Is it not possible that White Zetsu showed him that image? Remember as well that White Zetsu is still a big mystery and not to much about his powers are known. White Zetsu had also told Obito that he was weaker than him so its possible that Zetsu used a mild Genjutsu on him to show Rin's death. The Kakashi effect was just to seal the deal. Kakashi wouldn't have killed Rin for any reason. Madara just needs to make it seem that way to gain control of Obito. Just the thoughts of a random guy
