#35 Alright, everyone, its time to open this thing back up! *blows dust off story* Trick 6-Burn Kai was shooting down the streets at blazing speeds, pursuing Kraven of Shadowlurk. The battle was now 1 on 1, although Kraven had a large lead on Kai. Even so, Kai was determined to close the gap between the two of them, and his efforts werent to no avail. Kraven: *looks back, seeing Kai in the far distance* So, he seems to have lessened the gap between us, but that's not gonna change a thing! I'll die before I let him pass me! Toriko: Come'on Kai, pick up the pace! You cant lose to this punk! Kai: This speed that I'm traveling at......where the hell did it come from?! It's as if all of a sudden, I had this desire.....this burning desire to KICK ASS!!! *speeds faster* Announcer: Kraven is coming up on the final mile of the race, and Kai still has a lot of ground to cover if he wants to win this! Kraven: Ha! That little shit wont be catchin' up with me any time soon! Kai: Urgh.....*looks around the streets* Damn! All I've got for me is my spe.......hmm? *skids to a stop, looking down a dark alley* Dark alley.....ya know, I've seen plenty of TV shows in my life, I'm gonna place my bets that this is what I've been blessed with! *turns around and shoots into the alley, then turns to right, leading to another dark alley* Announcer: It seems that Kai has gone off course! I'm sure we're all excited to see what he has in mind! Toriko: ARGH! What the hell is he doing?! Kraven: Ha! That dumbass has already gone off the edge!!! Kai: Ok, first time.......*pushes off the wall and sideflips onto the other wall, riding vertically up it* Hell yeah! I'm natural! Kai leaps off the and reaches the top of the building, skating forward. Announcer: There he is! Kai has actually...reached the top of a building by performing a wallride! Kai: *skates to the end of the building and leaps high into the sky, falling into one of the windows in the next building* This is.....pretty awesome, actually! *lands in the room, and is completely stopped and shocked by the view* When he enters the room, 3 members of Shadowlurk are found, blocking the exit of the room. Kai: What the hell!? Why are you....all here? SLM 1: Well, mainly because this is the Shadowlurk base room. Kai: Huh? SLM 2: It's kinda like a hang out for all of our members. SLM 3: Its also helpful in a different sense! We knew that a lot of punks who race us decide to take a shortcut through here, so we stop'em before they get the chance! Kai: Shit...... SLM 2: And guess who's next on our list! Kai: Not me, that's for sure. *knocks SLM 2 into the others, then skates past them* SLM 1: *stands up* AFTER THAT PUNK! Kai: *bursts out of the window wall rides up the next building, the SLMs close behind* Damn, dont you guys have lives?! *leaps high into the air, then skates on the top of the building* SLM 2: Alright, Formation A! Kai: I dont like the sound of that..... They all skate around Kai in a continuous circle, taking out their nightsticks. Kai: Hey, yall might just wanna pay attention! *looks ahead, seeing the edge of the building ahead* SLM 3: *having turned around, he crashes and falls down the from the building* ARGH! Kai: *leaps across the gap between the buildings* SLM 2: *while in the air, he swings his nightstick at Kai* Kai: *backflips while in the air kicks his nightstick out of his hand, then spins around and kicks him in the stomach, sending him crashing downward* Ha! SLM 2: *yells in pain* Kai: *lands on the next building and skates ahead from SLM 1* Alright, only a few more buildings! SLM 1: *skates up to Kai* Kai: Do you REALLY wanna be the next one I take out?! I'm giving you a choice, so think about it for a second! SLM 1: Ok, I'm done! *launches his nightstick toward Kai* Kai: is hit across the face with it* Argh! SLM 1: *punches Kai in the stomach* ......NNH! Kai: *grins, lifting up his shirt, revealing body guards on his stomach* Body guards. You should get some! *grabs SLM 1's arm and twists it* SLM 1: URGH! YOU PIECE 'A SHIT! Kai: *punches him in the face, knocking him into a small water tower* Now, no more buggin'! I got a race to win! *speeds forward* Announcer: Amazing! By taking the building route, Kai was able to avoid not only the twists and turns of the road, but also the traffic! Kai: *sees the edge of the building and skates toward it* This is it! I'm gonna have to go for the big jump! *clenches his teeth* This is gonna decide it!!! Kraven: That bitch.......I'm not gonna let him get me! Kai leaps off the edge of the building, reaching sky heights. Kai: *smiles, looking at everything below him* The view....it's amazing! Kraven: Yeah, well enjoy while you can! *launches his nightstick toward Kai* Kai: Ya just had to ruin it, didnt you? *as the nightstick approaches, Kai slowly performs a vertical spin, grabbing the nightstick in the process* Kraven: Shit! Kai: *grins down at Kraven* NOW! YOUR MINE! *flips around and slams the nightstick onto the ground* Kraven: CRAP! As Kai slams the nightstick onto the ground, flame spreads out in all and every direction, sending Kraven crashing through a nearby shop. Toriko: That fire....how the hell'd that even happen?! Kraven: ARGH! *crashes into the counter in a local shop* Urgh......that little punk......did he see...the Road? Announcer: And this race is over! Kai is left with no competition, and has reached the finish point! Kai: *skids to a stop, before falling to the ground* Ugh..... Toriko: Dude, that was totally awesome! How the hell'd you do all those fire tricks? Kai: Huh? Oh, sure. Toriko: *confused* Takamaru: Thank you, boy! No longer is my shop under the control and watch of Shadowlurk! And to think that a rookie would be able to pull something like this off..... Kai: Ha, I'm a fast learn. Although, that doesnt explain my D in English..... Kraven and the rest of the Shadowlurk members all walk up to Kai. Kai: And you! Its kinda sad that you had to cheat in the first place, but to cheat and STILL LOSE is just pathetic! Kraven: *sighs* It cant be helped, then......*pulls the Shadowlurk emblem from his pocket and holds it out to Kai* Here, just take it. Kai: Huh? Kraven: You won fair and square! Usually, I'd hightail it outta here before anybody notices, but I dont think I can with all of these people surrounding me. Kai: *snatches the emblem* Woot! already won an emblem and I dont even have a team! Kraven: Urgh.....come on, we're outta here. *he and the others skate away* Kai: *grins* That was probably the most kickass thing I've ever DONE in my life! Yo, Taka! You'd better believe I'll be comin' to you to pick up some parts from now on. Takamaru: You can get whatever you like, kid. At a discount, of course. Kai: *sighs* Toriko: So, I think I'll just take a pair right now! Come on, Kai! Kai: *shakes his head* Nah....I'm pretty mangled from this fight, I'm gonna head home. Hey, what do ya say we meet at the fountain tomorrow, huh? Toriko: Got it. *pounds fists with Kai* Later, man. Kai: *nods, then skates off* Heh.....*Thinking: Heh, the true reason I'm trying to rush home is that I cant wait to tell Maya and Kara about my awesome victory!!!* Later, Kai returned back home. Maya: What awesome victory? Kai: What?! Are you telling me you didnt see it?! I was on the fuckin' Parts War website, I totally kicked ass! Maya: Heh, you defeated who? Kai: Shadowlurk, I took on their entire team! Maya: Like hell you did! Kai: I'm serious, look! *flashes her Shadowlurks' emblem* Maya: Wow.......who's to say you didnt just jack it from them? Kara: No, he's telling the truth! *on her laptop* Maya: No joke? Kara: Yeah, come check it out! I'm on the Parts War Homepage, it shows a replay of his entire match! Maya: *watches the laptop* Heh, I guess you really did! *punches him in the shoulder* Nice jo.......huh? Kara plays the data of him slamming down on the ground, creating a large wave of flame. Maya: *Thinking: Fire............could he have...seen the Flame Road?* Kai: *rubs his shoulder* Anyway, yeah, I totally owned. Kara: But your really hurt...just look at your face, its about as beat up as Toriko that one time he got into a fight with "Dennis The Destroyer" in 5th grade! Kai: *thinks* Ooo, do I really look that bad? Maya: She's just joshin' ya, but you are pretty beat up. Kara: *sighs* Looks like I have no choice, do I? Kai: What? Kara: Sooner or later, your gonna pick a fight with the wrong group of Storm Riders, and your totally die! So, I've decided that I'm gonna get a myself a pair of ATs! Kai: Your....serious? Kara: You bet! *thumbs up* Kai: Alright, cool! Maya: *puts her arms around Kara and Kai's shoulder* Look at us! Just one big, storm riding family! Kai: One, we're not related. Two, I'm goin' to bed. *walks away and upstairs* Maya: Kara......make sure you keep an eye on him, alright? Kara: Of course, Maya! Maya: Alright....*Thinking: If he really did see the Flame Road......then we've got a lot of work ahead of us in keeping him safe.* *End of Trick 6* ________________________________________________________________ I think that's a pretty good way to bring the story back up, dont you? #39 Alright, everyone....... Trick 7-Word The next morning, Kai, Kara, Maya, and Toriko were all headed to school. Kara being the only who was forced to walk due to lack of ATs, was struggling to keep up with the rest of the group. Maya: Kai, just to let you know, you'd better watch your back at school today! Kai: Why's that? Maya: After that win you pulled, odds are there's gonna be a lotta people who are going to come up to you. Rather to talk praise, or talk shit. Kai: Heh, like I havent dealt with enough of that crap at home...... Toriko: You should be glad that you didnt get your ass killed in that Parts War, this just comes with the territory! Kai: Since when did you become some kind of expert on ATs, huh? Kara: *panting while running after the group* Hey! Guys! Ya mind just slowing down a bit?! Honestly, I'm pretty sure my body is hot enough that I dont need too much excersize! Kai: Ha! Think again! Kara: *runs up to Kai and jumps on his back, beginning to pound him on the head* TAKE IT BACK! Kai: ARGH! GET OFF ME, YA CRAZY ASS BITCH! Toriko: *looks toward Maya* Natural? Maya: *Thinking: Such an idiot........how could he have possibly seen the Flame?* Toriko: Uh...Maya? You alright? Maya: Huh? *blinks twice* Oh, yeah, sure. Toriko: *sighs* They arrive at the school and split up, heading to different classes. Kai walks down the halls, rushing toward his next class. Kai: What Maya said.......could it be true? *looks around, seeing people whispering while pointing at him* Heh, not a chance. Boy: Yo, Kai! Kai: Huh? Boy: Saw your Parts War last night, totally kickass man! Kai: Do I know you? Boy: Keep it up! *pats Kai on the back and walks away* Kai: Weird...... Girl: Hey there, Flare! *walks up to Kai* Kai: Flare? Girl: So, seems like your up and running for the King title, arent you? Good luck! *punches Kai in the arm before walking to class* Kai: What the fuck is up with everybody today? And what King? *runs his hands through his hair* This dont make no sense! Voice: Heh, calm down man. There's a lot of reasons why everyone is acting weird around you, dont sweat it! Kai: Huh? Kai looks forward to see a group of 4 larger teenage boys walking toward him. Boy: Your Kai Nomino, right? Kai: Yeah......but who's asking? Boy: The name is Soji Ichimura. Gotta say, its pretty good to meet ya, kid. Kai: Ok.....anyway, gotta head over to class, so I'll check ya la....*tries to walk away but is grabbed by one of the boys* Soji: I dont think we're done here yet, sorry. Kai: Uh....whatever. Soji: Word on the street is that you picked up a little bit of AT knowledge yesterday in your race. So, you saw the Flame Road, eh? Kai: See, that's the thing! All of you people keep talkin' about this "Flame Road" shit, and I dont know what the hell your talking about! Soji: So, you dont know, hmm? Well, why dont you just follow me? Me and my boyos here, we're gonna give you a little lesson. And we're not talking about headint to class, either. *smirk* Kai: *blinks* Huh? Kai, Soji, and the others all sneak out of the school. Cutting the entire day, they walk down the streets and head to a large stairway in town the leads to the next district. Kai: So, 'the hell are we doing here? Soji: We just came to teach you about the entire Air Trek deal. Your pretty new to it, and there's been a couple of rumors about your race yesterday. Boy 1: Now, we cant have somebody who could grow to be very important to all of us not even know about the Tropaeum(Tro-pie-um), can we? Kai: Tro........pauem? Soji: *sighs* You really are a noob, arent you? Kai: Pretty much. Soji: Alright, here's the deal. In ancient times, when Greek City states battle one another for supremacy, their armies built massive altars by piling up their defeated enemies weapons and corspes. The strong were decided by who's altar reached the highest. These altars were called towers of victory, or, Tropeaum. The 8 different levels of the Tropeaum were called roads, which where led by the 8 Kings, whom of which were the strongest subjects following the path the different roads. Kai: *points to an MP3 player that Soji is holding* Hey, your just playing some tape! Soji: Shh, its getting to the good part. MP3: The 8 Kings come as followed: Storm King, Wind King, Flame King, Thunder King, Fang King, Gem King, Rumble King, and Water King. Soji: The Kings are kinda like rulers over others. And people have begun to think that YOU might just grow to be the Flame King, due to what you showed everyone yesterday. Kai: Me? Hey, I barely know how to ride these damn things! Boy 3: Anyway, we've decided that we're gonna put you to a little test! Kai: huh? The group takes out their weapons, ranging from nunchucks to plain old nightsticks. They all corner Kai, coming closer with their weapons. Kai: Wh.....what the hell!? Soji: Just fight back, ok? We'll see what Flare can really do! *End of Trick 7* ________________________________________________________________ That one took a suprisingly short amount of time... Hope you enjoyed the Trick. #42 Alright, due to my normal badass self, I've once again gotten suspended. You know what that means. Trick 8-Savior Kai: Hold on, you could at least give me more info on all of this Tropaeum junk! I'm sure there's gotta be more to it, right? Soji: You better believe there is. But we're not spilling a single bit more of it, unless you can prove your self here. Kai: A Parts War? Soji: Sorry, but we're in a little mix right now, so I dont plan on having an official war with you. Right now, its just a battle! *skates toward Kai* Kai: *backflips into the air and begins to ride up the ramp beside the large stairs* Like hell I'm stickin' around you! Soji: After'em! *shoots up the ramp* Boy 1: *begins to ride on the left wall* Boy 2: *begins to ride of the right wall* Boy 3: *skating behind Soji* So, we've got'em covered on all sides! Soji: All of'em except the front, that is! *skates up beside Kai* Kai: Back off! *skates to the left, then propels off of the wall and toward Soji* Soji: *grabs Kai by the arms and slams him into the right wall* Boy 2: *jumps off the right wall and flips, landing a kick onto Kai's stomach* Kai: ARGH! *cougs up blood* Soji: *takes out his nightstick and lifts it high into the sky* Bye bye, bitch! *comes down with a swing* Kai: *brings his legs back, placing his ATs on the wall, dodging the hit* What was that?! *places his hands behind his head and jumps up, kicking Soji in the face and sending him into the other alley wall* Boy 3: *comes from behind and catches Soji before impact* Kai: Time to haul ass! *skates off, faster than before* Boy 2: Damn....he wasnt kidding! Look at that speed..... Soji: Shut up, dammit! We've got a job to do! *skates after Kai, launching his night stick toward Kai* Kai: *spins around, beginning to skate backwards, and grabs the night stick* Thanks for the present! Kai looks forward, only to see a dead end if there ever was one. Kai: *leaps into the air and begins to ride up the wall* This wall....its pretty steep..... Soji: *stops before the wall* Hold it, alright?! Boy 1/2/3: *stop behind Soji* Soji: There aint no way in hell a noob like him can make that wall ride! Just wait until he's fallen, then we can go in for the kickass attack! Boy 2: Yeah...he's as good as done! Kai: *his ATs slowly begin to lose speed, as he's only halfway up the wall* Urgh...SHIT! Soji: Get ready! Kai: Nnh........All of this Flame King stuff they keep telling me about........what exactly does it mean.......? Fire....burning hot spirit.....is it supposed to defy me? *his ATs completely stop, and he technically is standing on the wall horizontally* If I'm right, then all of this Flame King shit.....I'M NOT GONNA RUN AWAY FROM IT! In a spark of flame, Kai shoots up the wall, leaving a trail of fire behind him. He hits the top of the wall and soars high into the sky. Soji: No......no way! Boy 1: Daaaamn! Soji: This Flame King stuff........I guess he might just be the one after all......... Kai: *spins around while in the air and sticks both of his middle fingers up toward them* That'll teach ya to fuck with me! *lands on the top of the building and rides off* Soji: Urgh....that little shit! I sware, I'm gon......... Voice: No, no, that's alright. I'm pretty sure we've gotten enough data on him..... Soji: Hi....Hirozumi! Hirozumi: Heh, I'm pretty sure that he'll make a great addition to Blade Dance...what do you think? I mean, if he was able to outrun all 4 of you, he must be some kind of good, right? Or maybe yall just suck ass. Soji: What the hell?! Hirozumi: Heh, I'm joking. Either way, he's gonna be ours....that's for sure. Meanwhile....... Kai: *sighs* Heh, ever since I got these damn things, seems like I've been gettin' in a lot of different mix-ups........ Voice: And just why the hell havent you been in school, huh? Kai: *shocked, he trips up and falls flat on his face* AGH! Maya: *walks over to Kai, standing above him* So? Looks like somebodies been cutting class, huh? Kai: M.....Maya? *looks up to her* What the.......no, see, I'll tell ya what happened! I got ambushed by this big-ass group of Storm Riders, and I all I could do was fi........wait.......exactly why are YOU here, huh? Cuttin' class just as much as me? Maya: *blush* No, I wasnt! See, I had a completely good reason! See, I saw you walking off with those members of Blade Dance, and I just knew that you would end up in some kind of fight! Kai: Blade Dance? Those were Blade Dance members? Maya: Yeah! Kai: I remember.....I watched that battle the other day.......but, I didnt see anybody I recognized in the team! Maya: Bottom line, I just came to make sure you were alright. After all of this Flame King junk spreaded around, your gonna be in a bit of trouble if you dont have an experienced rider watching your back. Kai: So, where's my experienced rider? Maya: *kicks Kai in the shin* Kai: ARGH! *falls back onto the ground* Maya: Now, come'on! We gotta head back to school before we get found out! Kai: I know....but, before we do. Do you know the story of ATs...and the Tropaeum? Maya: Yeah, of course. Every good Storm Rider knows it! Kai: Good. Then, can you tell me about it? I learned today, that about how the people of Ancient Greece battle and junk, but how does that tie in with us? Maya: Long story. Storm Riders, or people who use ATs, get together and form gangs. These gangs battle others in competitions called Parts Wars, fighting for supremacy just as the warriros of ancient Greece. Thus, the legend of the 8 Kings is reborn. Of the hundreds upon thousands of Storm Rider Teams out there, only a handful of them are able to reach the title as a king of one of the 8 roads. The different kings weild their Regalia, or ATs that possess special abilities and godly powers, along with their tuners, the subjects of the kings whos job is to tend to the Kings' Regalia, to battle for supremacy over all others, in hopes of one day that the legendary Sky King will come forth, and rule over the world of Air Trek. Kai: Awesome! So, I get a tuner?! Maya: You dumbass, your not a King! Its just a rumor, alright? Damn, we dont have time to talk about this, we have to go! Kai: *nods* Alright, let's get goin'. *skates off* Maya: *skates off in the opposite direction as Kai* Kai: Where ya goin'? Maya: Oh, I just need to handle something before I go back, go on without me. Kai: Uh, sure, whatever. Later that day, Kai arrived on school grounds, attempting to sneak back in before he was noticed. Kai: *having taken his ATs off, he slowly sneaks into the school doors* The bell for school to be out rings, and as the kids come out of the door, Kai finds his way into the pack. Kai: *sighs of relief, walking with the large group* Voice: Yo, Kai! Where you been man?! Kai: Uh, Toriko? Toriko: *nods* Yeah, you've been gone all day! Kai: Long story. And I'm beat, I'm just agbout ready to hit the hay, so our little AT session is gonna have to wait till later. Toriko: Yeah, whatever....well, to compensate for that, whaddya say I come over for dinner? I'd really like to spend some time with you. And if I just happen to get locked in a dark room with the two hot girls that live with you, then everybody wins! Kai: *chuckles* Yeah, sure.
