ERA 3 – The Reawakening // Streak Baby! Streak!
Cow was left flabbergasted by Jozy leaving. In response he decided to come back. Upon coming back things started to look up again and Many onlookers started commenting that cow's return saved -LR-. However this unfortunately discredited Das who had been working relentlessly. The majority of what helped -LR- regenerate was Das's continuous effort. The main effect of madcow- returning was a boost in morale, since he didn't have the time to devote like before. Das then started to get things in place to seriously get the clan moving again. He got back on-and-off members like Angel21 and Ljap into the clan(since this moment neither left again and both went on to become great family members) who got our laddering into overdrive, and he himself laddered like a beast daily. He selected Baki as a replacement co-leader for Jozy whose continuous loyalty and majorly improved ladder skills had earned him the rank. The really big turning point was when -LR- seen TFU using "corrupted means" to jump ahead on ladder. The entire clan body woke up in a way we had never seen before. Retired members returned and recruiting efforts went into overdrive. Yondaime even put aside some time to come help. Laddering became the main priority. Before we knew it, the clan was active, full fun and lively again we were rising the ladder as fast as when we had Weapon and Tim and everyone's spirits were up. A new captain squad was chosen, and once again, The Legend has been reborn into an unstoppable force aiming for number one.
-LR- and its members had finally proven their stance in the game. They made it to rank 2 leaving a large gap between them and the rank 3 clan and Dasake broke his +40 high streak making the top streak in the game at that point in time; +57.
ERA 3::Part_2:: – The Trio Wilts // Life Calls
The three clan leaders at that point in time all had to make the shift from high school to university. These three realized they could no longer continue their clan leader duties, thus they opted to all enter a retired veterans rank. With this, they appointed two new clan leaders; Element5 and Salman77. Salman was always the leader's favorite pick as he was the most loyal member of the clan. Element5, however, was a more recent member who showed a lot of in-game potential to continue driving the clan forward in a competitive way. He was very conscientious of the clan's progress and was always quite vocal when he thought an issue needed to be addressed. With this, the old leadership trio appointed Salman and Element5 as the second generation of -LR- clan leaders.
ERA 3::Part_3:: – The Rock of -LR- // Salman77 Takes Flight
At that moment where the 3 Clan Leaders retired, -LR- had briefly started to be considered the new "golden standard" of Naruto-Arena in-gaming…a title previously held by EA for over a year. All the best streakers had started flocking to us. Unfortunately, unlike EA's long lived dominance our reign was not meant to surpass a month…Cow considered that his work in Naruto-Arena was done and that he should move on with his life and he really did so staying inactive from N-A and Xat for over a year while he pursued his first year of university in France. Das and Yon never went into full retirement though and both sought out other projects elsewhere in Naruto-Arena.
Salman77, the "chosen one" of the leaders had joined -LR- almost by accident. Salman, with a streak of +8 in the early days, was allowed in only because he was Kenny’s (past veteran) best friend. It was an unbelievable feat, because in those days Cow was the only clan leader and was beastly strict on in-gaming entry requirements. For a long time though Salman remained surrounded by the best of the best players in N-A, and even though it took him a really long time, his skill developed. Salman became a powerful player in his own right and was always a symbol of peace within the clan. He was liked by all and never took sides during the internal squabbles between Cow, Das, and Yon (These fights usually featured Cow vs Das and Yon, Das and Yon argued only in private). He always gave great advice and was like a quiet under-credited rock of stability within the clan. All three of the Clan leaders unanimously agreed that Salman was the most worthy of taking the clan forward into a new era. He was appointed as clan leader.
Salman took up leadership of the most powerful clan in the entire of N-A. This was the first time he had ever taken up such a difficult task in his e-life. The level of difficulty in this task however is extremely complicated to understand. -LR- was never run by one person. There were always three clan leaders, two of which were usually active at any time. Respect for these clan leaders was absolute and despite the constant drama between team Cow and team Das/Yon, no one really questioned their authority. Here was Salman, a kid who started off as nothing in the clan, was an ordinary member for ages, and now was put in a position to be the leader of people who had held captain ranks over him. Clearly trouble started brewing within the inner circle. To create a sort of balance similar to the legendary trio E5 and Baki were appointed as his co-leaders leaders, leaving Salman with the final say which ultimately differed from the equality concept of the original trio. The in-fighting took off. No one took it too seriously as drama was normal in -LR-. Ultimately Baki chose to leave with Josae who had just returned from retirement and create their own clan, causing a major crack in the inner circle (They both returned for new era). All respect for Salman disappeared, and all of the clan members who joined when they thought we were the best clan in N-A for that short lived moment, started leaving one by one.
Salman couldn’t manage the clan and spent most of his time fighting with the remaining co-leader E5. To top things off the trio hadn’t fully disappeared as promised. Cow and Yon indeed were gone from -LR-'s life, but Das was still very much present, observing the clan from the outside and playing N-A. Das realized that the ship was sinking under Salman’s leadership and tried to take a similar approach to the one that Cow took when Das was first appointed main leader. (Basically Cow was very critical and harsh on him and pushed him to the point that it created an intense bitterness between them). As unpleasant as that approach may have been it worked on Das, and maybe he figured it would work on Salman. Das, however, was acting in the background and only ended up adding pressure to an already excessively fragile situation. Eventually E5 left the clan after an explosive fall-out. Salman was left in a last man standing sort of situation with a few confused members who’d experienced nothing but infighting and chaos since joining. This was the final blow. A definitive exodus of the remaining members commenced.
Salman was a good guy and truly tried his best. What he did not have was an effective support system. When Das was appointed leader, Cow and Yon were still running the show behind the scenes a bit and keeping a close eye. So he was given time to adapt. Salman, however, was thrown into the fire to head the most powerful clan, and finally he just could not pull it off under such intense circumstances. Salman stayed with the ship as it sank…until a very sad moment where he was almost the only person left that visited the chatbox. It’s said by those who were around then that he’d become greatly saddened by his failure to lead the clan and decided to resign. He posted a very somber message on the clan thread announcing his ultimate retirement from -LR- leadership and from the game all together. Salman77 disappeared from N-A for the following few months. He meant a lot to this clan and we were over joyed when he finally appeared on xats again to visit us during new era. He still stops by form time to time.
ERA 3::Part_4:: – The Blackest Hole // Ljap Takes Lead
Das during this period of time had been in a back and forth pendulum between –LR- and exploring other clans. Yon had long left for Entity and finally Das decided to join her there. Das and Yon had a nice relaxing time there free of stress and duty. No real responsibilities existed in a clan like that. So they could just take it cool and relax, but they were both fully aware that -LR- was now left leaderless and some serious decisions had to be made. Cow may not have been around but had been keeping a watchful eye on the situation ever so often, constantly fighting the temptation to try to intervene and put everything right like in the old days. At this point though, it was apparent that the clan was definitively over. The three original leaders held a meeting, Cow as usual vouching for a disband. This was always his stance during hard times; whether he’d actually ever have the balls to do it is maybe another issue, because -LR- is still around and always shall be. Das and Yon traditionally vouched to leave the clan in slumber. Cow agreed to not disband but didn’t like the idea of putting the clan in eternal slumber, which is where Ljap_db comes into the story…. Of all the members, there was one man left standing who had weathered the storm and watched helplessly as the ship sank in slow motion, but never budged, continuing as though nothing had changed like the musicians on the Titanic. Cow recommended that as a reward to Ljap_db for his unwavering loyalty, that he be granted leadership of the clan. This idea was not liked by Yon or Das but finally they all agreed Ljap could hold leadership while the clan acc would hold Clan leadership over him so that if Jap did a bad job they could take control of the situation. Cow disappeared again after this meeting and Das and Yon started keeping a close eye on a very pleased Jappy.
The appointment of Jappy was different to the appointment of Salman. Salman had earned it while Ljap was granted it by default. No one really expected Jappy to be able to revive the clan to anything near to its former glory. But Cow had argued that some life in the clan was better than no life in the clan.
In the past Jappy had never coped well when granted captain responsibility (ended up getting his account hacked at captain level and all members kicked out of -LR- by his account). However in all fairness he didn’t do as bad as we’d expected. Some people started joining (the players were no where near the caliber of the old days) and the chat was relatively active at times. Jap’s age and complete misunderstanding of the family aspect of a clan, eventually started leading to some horrible decisions though. For example, a gfxer he had invited posted a notice of his departure from the clan on our thread, to which Jap responded by cussing senselessly on N-B.
Everyone was seeing what was going on in -LR- and Yon and Das went into a panic as the name and reputation we’d worked so hard to earn was being compromised by Jap’s actions. They both found Cow for another meeting. Cow was horrified but really was against dethroning Ljap. Cow left a sharp word with Jap on the thread and disappeared telling Yon and Das that if they think Jap crosses the line again, they should feel free to “act as they see fit”. Jap however didn’t quite stay in line with the advice Das was trying to give him on leading the clan and was filling -LR- with swappers and other people of rather questionable reputation who were involved in things that go against the very nature of what -LR- stands for. Jap starting talking smack about Yon and Das and ultimately they acted by choosing to remove him from leadership and retire the clan. There was a weeks worth of uproar: Fighting, flaming etc. and then the dust settled. All that was left were the Ashes of the once great phoenix, carefully and safely tucked away in its urn, waiting for the right moment for its inexorable resurrection…

ERA 4 – The Phoenix Reborn!
Yon started discussing how much she missed -LR- and Das had already long made it clear that he would be up for a revival of the clan one day. On top of that Cow had mentioned during one of their meetings about Ljap’s leadership that he may come back to play for the summer of 2011. Everything was just speculation at that point, but there was a decent prospect of rebirth on the horizon. One day Yon and Das took the leap of faith! They left Entity and returned to -LR- inviting a few new friends. Cow eventually found out and decided he'd like to take part. Cow rushed to chat and couldn’t believe his eyes. There was Yon, Das and him together in -LR- chatbox ready to make a fresh start. The unthinkable had taken place. Really and truly they knew most of their -LR- family had moved on elsewhere or long retired from the game, but in that moment everything felt so great, so surreal. It was as though all they needed was each other and the rest would somehow work itself out. Josae, E5 and Baki also returned to the fold soon after.
ERA 4::Part_2:: – Drama Rebirth// A Difficult Revival
-LR- had a large name to live up to and luckily all hadn't been tarnished in the Ljap_db era. Das and Yon, now both very famous for the positions as GM's and ingame prowess, were able to draw the attention of the entire N-B community as they embarked upon their decision to revive the phoenix, -LR-. They got the clan and it's chatbox quickly active again and got a flock of N-B whore typed recruits to join within the first three days. Cow had began showing up often again but wasn't around enough to contribute productively to the clan's leadership, and like Das had done in the past with Salman, Cow probably complicated a very delicate situation for Das and Yon by critiquing all their decisions. The new -LR- was beginning to look more like a mod clan than an in-gaming clan and most of the people who had been wary of us when we announced our return stopped paying attention to us and wrote us off of the competitive listings. This upset Cow greatly because he felt like the -LR- he'd envisioned was in jeopardy. Also with Das and Yon becoming GM the lingering feeling of Cow vs Das/Yon. Orochimaru alone against Jiraiya and Tsunade began to redevelop. Cow became convinced that Das and Yon may have changed with their new staff positions and that there was a plot to exclude him. Cow was also being bombarded by rumors from all directions as people slandered Das and Yon for various "crimes" they had committed against the N-A community. It was there that we saw that we had never actually solved our old rifts of Cow vs Das/Yon, but rather had only had put them aside for the good of the clan. Everyone still carried hidden resentments for the disputes of the past.
Element5 and Josae were the only 2 ex-leader-captains who were able to return to full activity. Josae was a god-send as he helped organize the gfx for the clan as in the past. Element5 however, like Cow, was only complicating things. Neither Cow nor Element5 were getting much done for the clan but were only making complaints about the way things were being handled. Das and Yon were doing their best and had a plan to eventually get the clan back to its former stature even if it wasn't apparent at that point in time. Cow one day, in a fit of paranoia eventually took Das and Yon to task on what they were doing and all the rumors he had been hearing about them. The clan delved into a whirlwind of fighting and the rebirth that was meant to be a pleasurable reunion had degraded into something more vile than Jerry Springer meets Jersey Shore. Once again as things got more and more out of control, both sides withdrew from the fighting but only for the sake of the clan and not because they had resolved any of their issues. E5 had been observing closely the "elements" of discord that still existed and began calculating his next move.
After the resolution of this initial fight, a continuous succession of fighting continued to breakout. A big issue was the staff's decision of disbanding the clan called "Impact" which garnered the hatred of almost all the pro english-speaking N-A community. This decision didn't please many members in -LR-, especially Cow, but duty is duty and one has to perform it despite the potential repercussions. One common "element" that existed in all these fights was E5 being in the middle. One week, he would be fighting to get back his old leadership rank and then in the following he'd be insisting he had never wanted it in the first place. He'd be changing every single week his allegiance between Das, Yon, and Cow depending on who he felt would swing most in his favor that particular week. He ultimately managed to ensure that chaos broke out in -LR- chatbox once per week and that one of the 3 Clan leaders would take his side, pitting them against the other two. Cow finally began to realize that he the "great strategist", had allowed himself to be "out manipulated" for the first time by E5 and as he was the one who usually rode to E5's defense causing him to have to fight Yon and Das alone, E5 would slither away quietly through the backdoor. He was taking on all the pressure. Throughout all of this drama we still had an unhappy disgruntled ljap_db whose loyal-to-death soul still wouldn't leave despite the way he was removed from power. Jap complained regularly about the quality of the new players, flamed everyone and threatened to leave daily.
As if all this chaos wasn't enough, Das and Yon appointed captains in an attempt to increase the support factor in the fragile clan which was already quite demoralized by its abysmal performance in SC4. The clan knew it wasn't ready or prepared but entered just for the enjoyment of its members. Dimchu, a new age member was chosen to be captain. Ljap and E5 were also chosen in the hopes that they would make less noise if they had back higher titles. Though Yon insisted that Jap deserved at least Captain for his efforts and spirit. Jap finally calmed down and began to bond with his -LR- family in a way he never had before. Everyone began to even feel very proud of having Jap here and would jokingly tell opponents before a war "watch out for Jap, he might flame you if he wins and WILL flame you if he loses". This promotion on the other hand, only left E5 feeling entitled to more. Cow though, finally having called out E5 on his devious tactics refused to tolerate more of his antics and as E5 stormed out of -LR- one day in a fit of fury over "stripper clan rank names"... he discovered that this time none of the 3 leaders was going to reinvite him. Das, Yon, and Cow all seemed to stand united.
Our ultimate low point during this entire revival process was the successive departure of two captains, because 1 week later Dimchu followed in E5's footsteps due to a small little dispute he had with another member. This was a very embarrassing moment for -LR- and although we still acknowledge E5's major contributions to the clan in the early days, we continue to have a hard time forgiving him for the rift he deepened between us and AOP just to get revenge at us for chasing him out by trying to give him the rank name "Victoria Taco..."
