FARAZ's NEVER TOLD BEFORE GFXING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS
READ THIS wrote:
Please know this that it is for beginners mostly. It is not like ordinary guide, it have those tips which are not mentioned in other guides as they not really describe the gfxing skill but i focused on your attitude and those minor details you should look after along this journey of yours .
Hi NB folks, i have seen increasing topics of gfx on NB since when i joined NB, years ago.Everyday many new members join NB and start their way to gfxing. As far as i am concerned .When i came to NB , i started gfxing in few months.I almost didnt know anything about this skill, i didnt had as many friends as i have today in NB but i always wanted ti improve very much.Since i was bored and wanted to help all the new gfxers in finding their way to a high level. So lets get us started, but remember that this guide is meant solely for the Beginners , all NB folks are requested to link this guide to all the Beginners who just started their gfxing life. You can link it when they want you to rate their work or they want CNC.
There are already many guides here on NB , i will try mentioning those points which they lack in my view.I will be providing useful tips so that you dont waste time in wrong direction.
First thing , if you want to go Professional in this Graphics , NB is not the right site, its ironic as i am giving help on NB , but NB cant suffice fully your needs. Sooner or later , a good gfxer will know that, i didnt know that when i started and i believe that the time i spent on gfxing before that was merely a waste. So i want to save your time so you can improve in less time.
Why NB is not the best site? It dont provide the required resources very much(good ones) , you wont get much good CNC.
Then where should i go? If you r smart enough you will google that out, but still it wont help as there many sites. My recommendations are :
Remember these sites are just for getting started, you have to explore the world yourself.
Now what? One very important thing you should always remember is that , you should always ask for CNC , ( the trend on NB is more tilted towards getting RATINGS , seriously they wont get you anywhere unless some good artist gives his ratings.Always always ask for CNC's and their explanation from good artists or those who are at higher level than you.
When ever taking CNC,you should never regretted , when people will say that is very poor , the worst thing i have ever seen in my life blah blah blah. You wont find such comments on other gfx sites. You should try to understand the CNC.
While having CNC you can ask them to mention both te good and bad aspects of your tag.
Whenever downloading resources, always find HQ resources, one LQ layer will destroy your whole tag.You can ask good artist for their good stocks or you can download all the resources you find interesting and then delete those LQ ones , you will never use.Remember quality always matter at first point.
You should also get acquainted with the gfx ranks going on in the gfx world.
At other gfx sites or on NB , you should try getting in a gfx team, its really helpful because your team mates will give you the best CNC and they will also share their resources with you.Even if they have certain requirements , you can tell them your objective, it may help in your approval although you may not be asked to participate in Gfx battles.
You should go for COLLABS(collab is a piece of art , which is made by two artists, one artist start the tag and leave it at certain state then he will send you the PSD file and you will continue the tag and finish it) with artist above or near your rank , it will let you get a grasp of how they do certain effects or techniques.
As beginners you have to start from tutorials. You can find written tutorials as well as tutorial Videos. At beginner level , you should always try doing the tutorial. As you will proceed to higher rank , you can just read tutorials to find any new thing you never knew before and you can also try adding your own work when doing a tutorial.
Being a Beginner you should start with Beginner TUTs never try to do higher level TUTs , you wont grasp the ideas.
Beginner TUTs are for beginners to understand , they are detailed , it dont mean that the tag they result in is Beginner.
Moderate TUTs are for high level artists, they only mention special ways of doing something.
Advanced TUTs are somewhat like Moderates.
The main key to being a good artist is keep PRACTICING. Never give up , keep making tags and getting them CNCed.You should try to evaluate your work at the end YOURSELF. Never feel that you made your best art piece. You will never see your best one in your life. When you end, tell yourself, its not my best one and it have flaws like .... and start finding them and then get your work CNCed , if you get the same CNC as you did it yourself, then be sure that you are progressing. CONGRATS from me !
I prefer Photoshop over Gimp or any other program. Sooner or later you will need to move to Photoshop. You can download PS at trial but there are other ways which you can figure out yourself, if you are smart enough, you dont always have to pay for all the good things.
You can find the basic term of Gfxing from other guides in NB , they also have resources and other useful things.
List of guides
When you get good at your basics, ONLY THEN try to get innovative, it will be useless doing all the experiments when you dont even know the basics,HIGH NOVICE is the suitable rank to get in this thing. Before TUTs are your best friends.
Never try to make tags observing the tags made by high ranked artists. You have to wait and keep practicing to get to high ranks. The transition is not fixed in all cases, it mostly as i have observed is, you will get to NOVICE in 2 to 3 months , getting to HIGH novice should be your first high aim.
At NOVICE rank you can , download PSD files also to understand the how that artist have done that certain thing to that layer, PSD's are different from TUTs they are like MODERATE TUTS but they provide some other info which may not be mentioned in a TUT mostly.
Never try to over work yourself, never make anything without planning, its a bad habit and it retards your progress at high level.Just think how you are going to do each thing in your tag.
When you are lack of ideas , and you may not want to make any tag get inspired, there are certain topics on other sites where great tags are exhibited, you will feel yourself exciting to work on your tag after observing those tags.
When you see a tag , take a deep look ,and try to find the best thing in it ,and find how the effects in the tag are done.
You should practice that style which is more interesting to you.Try to improve in one or two styles at a time, to achieve a high rank. The different styles are Smudge, Vector , Abstract , C4D etc.
~Thats all for now , i will update this topic with more tips time by time.
