New Warnings System
As of today (30/12/2009), the warning and ban system has been changed. Instead of the regular “3 warnings and you’re banned” ordeal, a new point system has been implemented.

How does it work?
For each offence you commit, you get a certain amount of points based on how severe the offence is. The more points you receive, the greater the consequences will become.
With this system, you will finally know which offences are warnable and which are bannable.

Purpose of this System?
This system will decrease the number of bans for light offences, and at the same time, punish those who commit more severe offences (e.g.; flaming). With less bans present, it will give you the chance to learn from your mistakes. You will also know which offences are warnable, and which offences are bannable. In short, it will create a much fairer system than we had before.

Redemption System
This is a way to reward you for learning from your mistakes. If you committed an offence a while ago, and haven’t received a warning for a long time, you will lose the points that you had. The longer you haven’t received the warning, the more points you will lose.

Warnings Removed?
Yes, you saw correctly. All previous warnings have been removed from the database. With the updated rules, new system, and members still having warnings for things they did more than two years ago, removing all the warnings was the most reasonable solution. You can also consider this as a present from us to you.

The point values for each offence are found below:

Every offence has its own point value. If you receive 10 points, you will be banned for a week. Point values can be adjusted to the situation, e.g. If you spam five times in one topic, you will get more points than making only one post. Of course, multiple offences done in the same time/topic can even lead you to an immediate ban without a warning.
Also, points don't go away after a ban. They stay for your next bans, so if you have 9 points and you flame, you will be banned, and the remaining points will carry to your next ban. If you are guilty of many offences in a short time (like 1-7 days), it will be considered as forum assault and you will be banned permanently without a warning.
It is a decision of a moderator how many points you will get, points table is just a guideline.

• Flame (moderate) - 6
• Flame (light) - 4
• Vulgar language (excessive) - 3

• Ripping (anything other than avatar) - 5
• Ripping (avatar) - 3

• Spam - 3

• Back seat moderating, trolling, starting drama, talking about moderators or their actions, advertising, pirating links or illegal transactions (if there is nothing on topic in the post, it is spam on top of anything else) - 3

• Multi post - 3
• Double post - 2

• Nudity, inappropriate level of bared skin - 5
• Ignoring moderator's request (if not bannable) - 5

• ALL OTHER OFFENCES (default value) - 3

Usually before a ban, warning takes place, but you can be banned without it (read more below). If you keep doing something you were warned for, you will be banned immediately, no matter how many points you have. You should not ignore warnings and moderator's requests.
Remember that being banned multiple times will lead you to a permanent ban very quickly. Usually, you will be banned for six weeks before your permanent ban, so when this happens, be aware that we will not give you a second chance.
The third ban is not always a permanent ban or a ban for six weeks. Rather, it depends on how many bans you received and for how long you were banned in the past.

wsbpip.png You will be banned without a warning accordingly to the severity of your offence for:
• starting a rip shop (around 2 weeks)
• cybering and other distasteful text-based content (around 1-2 weeks)
• posting hentai/porn images or links (around 1-2 weeks)
• flooding (around 1 week)
• sharing classified information (around 1 week)
• heavy flame (from few days to even 2 weeks)

wsbpip.png You will be banned permanently from the forum without a warning for:
• making spam assault
• making a troll account
• ban evading
• having 50 or more points from warnings

wsbpip.png You will be permanently site banned (in other words you will lose your account) without a warning for:
• ban evading (further offences)
• scamming
• impersonating

wsbpip.png You will be temporary site banned without a warning for:
• flooding someone's inbox
• ignoring requests/warnings to stop sending flame/spam messages using Private Messages

wsbpip.png You will be banned for 1 week for:
• having each 10 points from your warnings

When you are getting your 3rd ban for warnings, we set your score to 45 points (if you were breaking rules too much before that ban, we will set it to 49). A permanent ban is at 50 points, so any offences that total 5 or more points done after your 'last chance' will result in your account being banned forever from Naruto Boards.
You can still lose points via the Redemption System, but you will not go below 45 points.

wsbpip.png If you haven't got a warning over:
• 3 months* = you lose 2 points
• 6 months = you lose 4 points
• 9 months = you lose 6 points

So if you are not breaking rules for 3 months, you lose 2 points. After the next 3 months without a warning, you would normally lose another two points, but you are losing four instead. The longer you are not warned for, the more points you will lose every 3 months.

* - approximately. It is 3-4 months as we are not updating your status every day. So please be cautious and remember, we don't have to remove points to a single minute of your last warning - we are doing it only for you, so please understand.

All rules apply to Private Messages, Signatures, Avatars, User and Clan Profiles.

Moderators have the right to create and enforce rules in their own respective sections. You must obey those rules and listen to any request the moderator makes.
Section Rules or special rules for single topics override Global Rules.

If you want to know how many points you have now, PM any of: Penguins, Grimm_.

As another update, the Naruto-Boards Forum Guide has been tweaked. Included in the new guide are clear and detailed definitions and examples of all the rules. With the inclusion of some lovely banners, we hope that you read the whole guide.

Remember: it is a decision of a moderator how many points/how long ban you will get, points table is just a guideline.
Read the rules or you will get chlamydia.
