People that will be in this story in upcoming chapters as the story moves along --> Zero(windrider),Rain, Jenna and many more.
It was a very cold winter. So cold and so harsh like many haven’t seen in they’re entire lives. The snow storm just started again after a brief pause and didn’t seem like it would stop any time soon. I had never before seen such big snow flakes. Each one seemed to get bigger and bigger carrying its own story. A story that became a burden, eventually making them fall from the heavens to the ground, and no matter how hard they struggled to get back up there, they could only go down. Just like those snow flakes I had fallen down in the snow and couldn’t get back up . I was to tired from my endless journey, my never ending quest, to find a place where I felt I belonged.
I had no name, I had no past, I had no memories except those from my travels that began 5 years ago. I didn’t even know how old I was since I didn’t remember anything before those 5 years but I figured I had to be around 20. I always felt so alone and meaningless as I kept on walking, trying to find some fraction of my past or at least a place where I can settle down. All those memories, feelings and questions flashed before my eyes as I fell to the ground feeling like I was taking my last breath.
Some time after that I woke up in a warm bright place all wrapped in bandages and blankets. Before I got up I heard a calm gentle voice talking to me :
"At last sleeping beauty awakes!“ said the voice " we were starting to wonder if you ever will! gave us quite a scare you know!.” I turned to the side and I saw two girls standing in front of me whit more bandages and blankets in they’re hands.
" What happened to me? How did I end up here? “ I asked looking at them whit a confused expression on my face and a weak voice. ,, We found you half frozen in the snow outside “ said one of the girls smiling,, Some friends helped us and we carried you inside, I think you can deduce the rest for yourself but I have to say … it was a foolish thing to go out in these weather! My name is Ayame and these is my friend Maria.”
" Nice to meet you !” I said whit a smile as I got up on my feet, stretched a bit and looked around ,, So where are we? Is these your home?”
" I guess it is” said Maria ,, It’s our home away from home, we travel a lot these days since our town was raided and our parents taken as slaves. We’ve been traveling back and forth trying at least to find out where they are. Lucky for us we have friends who joined us in our journey and have been helping us since we left, we’re like a family now and as we move from city to city we earn money by doing magic shows. These is a special house though , we can take it anywhere we go “. " Wow! I could use a house like these one " I said amassed.
" How about you ?” asked Ayame ,, What’s your name ? Where do you live? and what were you doing out in such a weather?”
" Well the truth is I don’t know anything for sure, I don’t remember anything before 5 years ago. I woke up one day in the hospital whit nothing but the clothes I was wearing and this gold watch. I’ve been on my own ever since going from town to town trying to find out about my past but I’m just tired now, all I want is to settle down somewhere. I was out in that storm because I had no money to stay at a inn so I was looking for a place where I can spend the night. As for my name you can call me Lucky, I know it's not my real name but I got used to it, people in a town I stayed in a couple of years ago called me Lucky because each time I went there a lot of good things happened that you don’t see every day. They saw me sort of like a lucky charm.” I said looking down at the floor holding the watch in my right hand relieving in my mind all the moments of my journey.
" Lucky you say? well I guess you started bringing yourself good luck . You were very lucky we found you out there!” said a voice as I heard foot steps and a boy entered after the door opened whit a loud squeak making me stop day dreaming.
" Hey Hawk !” said Aya as she gave him a hug and a kiss ,, How was work today? Did people like your paintings? “
"It was really well actually I sold like 15 paintings and two porters, a couple more days like these and we can all relax for a while” said Hawk whit a smile being really cheerful " That's great ! " shouted Aya as she strangle hugged him " Aya ! aren't you forgetting something?" said Maria concerned " Oh ! right " said Aya blushing " I don't want my Hawky ending up like that manikin". " And what happened to the manikin ?" asked Hawk concerned " Nothing much just broke it in half whit her killer hug " said Maria as hawk turned white in the face. " Do me a favor, the next time your powers grow again tell me in advance, glop, love hurts whit you around" said Hawk whit a smile while stretching a bit.
As I was looking at them I couldn't stop myself from laughing loudly . They stopped and looked at me for a sec then started laughing whit me. From that point on we had the greatest evening ever together, laughing , singing and playing games. For the first time ever, I felt happy, I felt I belonged.
The next morning we all woke up hearing all sorts of loud noises and screams. We quickly got dressed and as we were about to go outside to see what has happened someone came in whit a frightened expression on his face trying to catch his breath. " Lord Zepagna ... soldiers ... hurry !" he said whit a trembling voice " Slow down and tell us what happened DF ! "said Ayame. " Me and Saku were at the market when out of a sudden his soldiers appeared and started setting everything on fire. Those that they didn't take as slaves were killed on sight. I ran as fast as I could to get away but got separated from Saku, they seemed to be looking for someone, they kept asking about a man whit a golden watch!".
All heads turned towards me as they were trying to decide : to help me or to tell them where I was . " Why would they be looking for you ?" asked Maria. " I have no idea ! " I said whit a confused look on my face " I never even had a fight whit anyone in these past five years I swear , either I must have done something before or .." Maria interrupted " or you're more important then you think ... , I heard he put a bounty on a man called The Green Mage who's supposed to hold the key to defeating Lord Zepagna for good . Maybe you're tied to him somehow. I heard people saying he used gold as a medicine somehow ".
" Down ! "said DF as a bunch of arrows hit the side of the house. As he was getting up the door opens in a hurry hitting him in the back making him trip, fall and get his head stuck in a flower pot. " Ups ! " said Aya coming in as the others were trying to get him loose. In these time I was trying to make sense out of all of these events when I had a flask back seeing a tall man whit a mustache dressed in a black armor whit a sword at someone's throat that was dressed as a druid. As I was day dreaming again I heard Hawk calling me, asking me to help while sending Aya after some fat. I merely touched the pot and it grew in size enough to let Df get his head out. Unfortunately for me I pulled to hard and found my self whit my but in a bucket full of water.
Everyone started laughing but they were also curious how I did that . " Do that again ! " said Df staring at me " I don't know how " I said " things just happen, I have no control over them ". In the next moment we heard a large crashing noise outside and even more loud screams. We went to see what it was. What we saw was something neither of us have ever seen before. A huge human shaped creature made out of rock was crushing all of the houses making way for the soldiers to inspect. As it just turned towards us Aya noticed it was holding something. " Hawk look and see what that is !" she said and after he looked he answered whit a angry voice and fury in his eyes " that's Saku ! We have to go get her !". " What ? how are we supposed to get her from a entire army and a moving mountain ?" asked Df looking at us like we were nuts . " I think I have a plan " said Hawk as he rushed towards the village and drew his sword. We all went after him including Df who was hesitant at first but preferred to come whit us rather then to stay there alone."Wait for me guys!"
When we got there we got surrounded by soldiers and started fighting out way through them like Hawk told us to. Hawk welded the sword like a knight and was very agile. Ayame Had the strength of 100 men. One punch was enough to cause a crater in the ground and Maria could go through solid matter and had telekinetic powers. Df could turn into all sorts of animals and use they're advantages in battle . As for me, I didn't have any out standing skills but someone taught me how to weld a sword and I was able to defend myself but I also had luck on my side. It was like the sword moved on it's own. I didn't even see some of the soldiers as they were attacking me but somehow I blocked them. The battle carried on like that for hours. At a point we all started to get tired and got cornered . As it was starting to look hopeless, soldiers started to fly left and right as two men were trying to help us escape .
" Oi mate ! long time no see " said the shorter one " you're the guy everyone called Lucky aren't you ?". " Yes I am , thanks for the help but how come you know me ? " I said while fighting back to back . " Are you kidding ? everyone in Pixolide knows you, and besides if you didn't help the doc get the plants he needed in his medicine garden our grandfather would still be sick " Said the short one . " Glad I could help " I said throwing a soldier over my shoulder. After that we all regrouped staying back to back trying to come up whit a new plan.
" so any ideas ? " asked Aya " I have a plan if you guys are willing to follow it " I said " well a plan is better then no plan, let's hear it " said Hawk. " OK ! Hawk , you take Df and these 2 guys whit you and cover us keep the soldiers away, me and the girls will take care of the giant, the soldiers seem to keep us away as that thing continues the search. Aya you have to start hitting that thing in the ankles, whit your strength you might be able to make it unstable, while Aya is working on the ankles you will attack it's head from a distance Maria , try to throw big things at it to help Aya make it unstable . I will try to climb it and block it's knees whit one of my potions. If these works it should fall on it's back decreasing the chanced of Saku being crushed. From what I've seemed it protects her so it want's to take her alive for some reason. Did everyone remember they're part ?" I said quickly ," yes " the others said and we split.
Things were going according to plan. The guys managed to defeat most of the soldiers, me and the girls managed to make the huge creature fall but as they were trying to make the hand open and I fell back to help the others more soldiers and two more mountain creatures appeared and we heard a creepy voice saying " I can not be stopped, surrender or die ". Quickly we were all captured one by one as more and more soldiers kept coming but just when were were about to be executed a bright white light made everyone go blind for a few moments and something really strange happened...
