Authors Note:
I've found it quite enjoyable to put together the first couple chapters of this story. To those of you who are familiar with my works of lore, I'll say that these are inherit with a bit more grit and a tad less thoughtfulness for the time of day or scenery. I spent a great amount of time on it and don't really feel like proofing something so trivial right away. So if you're a grammar freak or hold all you literature to the highest standards, I can only say you may be irked by a few oversights here and there after a chapter’s initial release. If this doesn't bother you however I think you'll be really excited as the story unfolds and quite anxious for the next chapter to be released. Like all things on these boards please enjoy these contributions at your leisure, but don’t rip any of my stories without my permission. Ask nicely before reposting them anywhere and I might say yes ;P

Garrinski Dawsoe would perhaps be deemed the story's main protagonist. The whole formula driving the story forward begins with his ambition to return a few lost items to an old friend of his. Swept up by the dilemas of those he meets and challenges he faces, Garrinski makes each of his decisions with careful consideration. Emotions rarely overtake him, even in battle, although his concern for his comrades is always his highest priority.

A pirate captain who's destoryed everything in his path, his crew, his father, his ability to feel happiness. Now seeking redemption after losing his kin, Flashy will continue to purge those who are deemed evil and would only bring the world malice through their own existence. He has given up on going to heaven, but vowed to fill up the pits of hell until he's admitted to enter. Outside of battle he is a solemn individual with a depressing presence. Once provoked by any ill action though, Flashy tends to reach intense levels of brutality mixed with a sense of twisted justification. He has said the tattoo on his back depicting chains is to keep this other side of Flashy, the demon side, from reigning over his body all the time.

Sam is a master blacksmith and mechanical genius. He helped build the Legacy and has also crafted many impressive pieces of work. The two things he holds dearest to his heart are his swords, named London and Apollo. His light hearted personality and odd sense of humor, often get him more confused looks than smiling faces, but that never seems to erase his constant smile. Accompanied by Red where ever he goes, Sam continues teaching and trying to escape his duty as an artisan, if only to allow himself to die without mourning. Sam has contracted a rare condition that no man has found the cure for.

A bright and very gifted young man. Apprentice to Sam Smith, he has far exceeded his master's expectations, but refuses to continue moving on with his accletic studies. Being a fast learner since a very young age, Red is usually always the first to think, speak, or even act. Although this sometimes seems to be judged as rash, he is a well rounded individual capable of impressive cognitive ability. Every action he exerts is definite, precise, and unwasted. If something works great he takes it upon himself to see how it may work at a greater extent. Growing up by the sides of many men all his life has made him a bit inept in the area of women, even though he has a weak heart.

Being called 'Crazy' is all he's ever known. He was marked a vandal, deliquent, and criminal by all manner of men, because of his primal and ill mannered nature. Unable to speak clearly or well, Crazy has always gotten along fine on his own, forging for any necessities needed to survive. Now, seen as an actual person by Nicholas Pike, Crazy is slowly learning about the gentler side of civilized life. But now with so many people interacting with him on a daily basis along with a constant bombardment of horrific as well as wonderful things, Crazy is slowly beginning to understand what it means to be human...the question he's forced to answer is, "does he even want to be?"

The blind warrior, seeking revenge on the pirates who killed his wife enters the story with grit and attitude. His harsh words aren't to be misunderstood and he always speaks in a very direct manner. His ruthless actions are often derived from an impatience and easily disturbed persona. Weakness isn't defined in his mind and he holds nearly all men inferior to his abilities. Sought out by Garrinski for his knowledge of lands near and far, this ex-navigator has sailed the world many times in his younger years.

Her entire tribe was lost when she was just a child. She left her homeland in search of a new peace and now as a member of the Legacy crew, she'll do whatever it takes to help her new friends any way she can. Her ability to heal others and cure diseases have given her renown far and wide, but few know of her young age. Although usually upbeat and optimistic, Sevr finds it hard to properly grieve for any of the wrongdoings she comes to bare witness, mostly due to the fact her feelings are overshadowed by her crewmates. With a unique affinity for plants, Sevr often dreams of ways to unite man and nature once again. She's been given glimpses of the future since her birth and it's because of these visions that Sevr is faced with some of her toughest choices. How can she avoid what she has come to see happen time and time again?

Unsure. Ray an ex-assassin for the military, once code named 'Fifteen-hundred'. He's a trained sniper and firearms specialist with enhanced training in emotion deprivation. With the unique ability to read people's minds, Ray is by far a difficult man to open up too. With each confrontation with the military, Ray is forced to think once again about who he is. Has his past already sealed his fate or will he manage to forge a new man from an empty shell? Calling himself 'Entity' in the presence of his former comrades, he is trying his best to severe his connections to a life he never choose. 'Kill or be killed. Be or don't be.' These are the only tennets Ray has known. Will he be able to find the answer to who he is? Perhaps the answer is in the clouds. That's where he's been searching for the longest time.

Unsure and shaken by the frightening events he sees day by day, Solo has begun to question his own faith. Although confronted about his beliefs by the world and people around him constantly, he tries his best to maintain a strong resolve in the face of adversity. A gentle spirit, Solo has wandered from his church to help spread the word of his religion to those in need. His unique and beautiful musical abilities usually connect better with others, than his uncertain preaching. When in doubt Solo often allows those around him to decide what is right, since he feels powerless to change things on a greater scale.

A wealthy patron from the city of Virwitch. Nicholas was once a child of the streets, and taken in by the caring Mr. Quiton. Now a refined gentleman, Nicholas' only goal in life is to help those less fortunate and unable to live a normal, happy life. Crazy is just one of the people he's helped over the years, but now as they travel together, they've become the best of friends. To also protect those he holds dear is Nicholas' strongest desire. He is a one of the two original owners of the Legacy. Able to commandeer any vessel expertly and with a vast array of culinary skills, Nicholas is rarely found away from the helm or kitchen.

Q: Who are these characters?
A-The character’s names were originally based off of people from the Ten Legends crew(may it RIP). Other than that these characters are not based directly from those individuals.
Q: So where is all this taking place?
A-The story takes place in a fictional world of exploration and piracy. The known world has all but been discovered.
Q: Oh, so this is a One Piece fanfic?
A-No there are no devil fruits, lines of any sort, or a mythical treasure known as "one piece".
Q: So um, what's this story all about?
A-I'm trying my best to write something where the hero isn't always the one to save the day. It's a story about an entire crew. Ridiculous plot devices will seldom be used unless of course they prove humorous enough to be deemed readable. No single person will be driven blindly(except those that may be blind literally or morally). To put simply, this isn't a story about the good guys finding their place in the world through self discovery and friendship. It's about the duties that bind us in the midst of broken promises and crushed hopes. It's about what we do when we give up on a world destroyed and walk among it's desolation looking for the tiniest bit of significance we can instill our last breath into, not because we choose to, but because it's all we have left to do before leaving this world.
Q: I like the story, but I don't know how to show support. Is there anything I can do to help make sure chapter releases keep coming?
