What is reality in essence?

Can we truly describe it? Can we offer a most simple of explanations? Are we capable of deciphering the secrets it holds fast?

Is what we see real? Is what we perceive to be accurate?

What about all the mixed feelings ? What about those sentiments we have difficulty explaining? Are those considered real?

Or is it all just a dream?
Reality is an interesting subject. What we perceive to be real is our individual reality. Of course, we all have a different perception of real, and we all see the world differently. What I'm wondering is, what are the real truths? Are there any at all? Or is everything truly just perspective?
truth can be w/e you want it to be o.o
as long as you have large amount of people that agree
i could say 2+2 = 78
and if people say its false then the answer is false
how ever if they all say yes the answer is true
religion is like that <.<

What about 50% support?
then you have arguements and all this other stuff
eg wars, conflict etc

Wouldn't the truth still exist despite a lack of current knowledge of it?
it seems to be one of those questions like if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around does it make a sound =/
but the answer to that question is yes :oh
but if no one is around to hear it
it cant be heard therefore there is no sound =o
Scientifically, it does, but how can we be certain that is is happening when we do not observe it ourselves? Our science suggest it would, but it's fully possible it makes no sound.
so is science truth then? or someone's perspective? or both =/
Science is what we perceive to be true about the world around us. In that way, science is perspective,
but we all know gravity is true
because everything in the world has it
prove that gravity is true :oh
jump off a cliff then tell me it isnt o.o
prove that it's gravity
prove it isnt =o
I can't, but neither can you prove that it is.

As far as I know, it's gravity, but that doesn't rule out the possibility that there's something else that actually caused it that people don't know about because out senses can't perceive it. And if we can't observe it, we have no means to know that it is there, even if it's acting upon us

oh so in reality i have my on game

I can't, but neither can you prove that it is.
well its rahte rstupid question its liek asking me to prove the number 1 is actually 1 o.o
well numbers are just concepts anyway, but still.

It's impossible to prove anything completely
so why try =/
since this is jsut making me get off working on meh sig <.<
i just explained there is no gravity besides on the moon do u guys ever read
you said there's no gravity except on the moon, then you also talked about orbiting the earth. things orbit the earth cuz of gravity, but I thought there was no gravity on the earth

moar consistent please

we all have our own perspective on everything

Quite a daring question to say the least :amused

And difficult as well. None can say. We follow rules adopted by our society, we uphold laws for the sake of justice, we adapt in a community and evolve as time passes. Yet all that we fell, we live and sense may very well be just a dream. A fiction created by the mind to protect us from the true nature of things.

Death? Maybe its actually an awakening, not of the flesh, but more deep, more profound, of the soul. A coming of age and transcending into the next. But I have gone a bit astray, for now.

I believe that interpretation holds the key to what we consider to be tangible, palpable, said truth, if you will. We perceive events, we analyze them and we try to understand.

It all depends on how we look at things :amused
Yes, I think I like you.:amused
My motto is "Perspective is Everything." Nothing is true, or correct universally. Everything is based around the world a person creates with their mind. Morality is a nice thought, but in reality, goodness and justice are simply the norms of the culture. To deviate from them is "wrong". The pursuit of understanding has driven us all for all of time, and yet is it possible to truly understand anything? No one person can experience something in exactly the same way as another. No one person can understand something so fully and completely, because it is from their perspective, which will give them one piece of a puzzle with infinite pieces. In the end, it seems that if any "Truth" exists, it would be impossible for anybody to ever reach it.

Yet even so we try as much as possible to depict every possible behaviour, to conduct studies on psychology, to evaluate the human psyche, only to establish given statistics in order to structure our nature in more and more detail.

Sometimes, I think we try so hard to obtain something we are blinded by our need, ambitions toward given goal that we lose touch of the most simple of things. We stray away, lose focus and complicate our life uselessly. We end up losing those close, and just dig our own abysmal demise.

You know, its really ironic. As we want to hold lectures, give advices over rights or wrongs, construct rules and divide into categories. We, who can barely explain our own existence, to try and consider ourselves to know the world.

The more we wish to seek answers the more questions we encounter, like a never ending struggle that seems to take us farther away from our goal the more we insist.

:amused

Same, here Finus.

I enjoy discussions with individuals such as yourself.
I agree strongly.

The pursuit of knowledge is a strange thing. Why do we crave it? Is it because we fear the unknown? Or because of some deeper reason? Many of the lives we lead now have little meaning. We reduce the world and everything in it to it's simplest components, in an attempt to understand. In doing so, we gain another piece of data. What then? Why do we keep digging? Do we expect to find something? Do we expect to every truly understand life? All we do is inflate our egos more. We believe everything inherently belongs to us. This extends to true understanding. We believe we deserve it, that it is ours. We work our hardest to reach Truth, but what would happen if we ever truly found out everything? I feel as if working towards truth has become our only goal, which as sad, because it is one we will never reach.

On a less serious note: I need to learn how to use paragraphs.
