*Announcement: 5/30/08 - I've completed and uploaded two new characters for your critique!
The Lightning Country Sisters, Seiwa Arashi and Seiwa Reika!

From the creator of Kita Miyoko comes Gosuto Nobu!
Ideal for helping those characters that sacrifice life for their techniques!

Notes
Soul Burn Sacrifice adaptability:
Soul Burn Sacrifice will add 25% defense to Gosuto Nobu for each application. It wont stack on one target but you can attack up to three targets and each one increases the base defense for Gosuto Nobu. So you are looking at 25% for one target, 50% for two targets, and 75% defense if you are attacking all 3 targets. It works like this because the damage you take each round from SBS stacks on Gosuto Nobu. If he's doing 5 damage to all 3 targets every round, he is also taking a combined 15 damage each round! So a 75% defense increase is critical to keeping him alive long enough to truely threaten the enemy! With this in mind, when one of the targets affected by SBS dies, the 25% defense is removed and Gosuto Nobu no longer takes 5 damage each round from that target.

Embrace of the Maidens conditional team heal:
Healing is based on how many targets are being affected by Touch of the Forgotten. You get 10 points of healing for your whole team for each enemy. So if you are able to connect with all 3 enemies, your team can be healed for 30 points. Since there is no cooldown, and Touch of the Forgotten lasts for two rounds, you can use Embrace of the Maidens twice in a row for a possible 60 points of healing before Touch of the Forgotten wears off. Keep in mind this would require two blues and two blacks to pull this off back to back.

Touch of the Forgotten defense disable for healing prep:
This technique is a prerequisite for Embrace of the Maidens. The move is blockable of course but if it connects it will disable the enemy team's defensive techniques for the next two rounds. This is important because during this time, Embrace of the Maidens is enabled and can be used without worrying about someone using a team invulnerability move (ie: Bug Wall) that would prevent you from healing off the targets affected by Touch of the Forgotten. One thing you DO have to worry about are stunners looking to pin you long enough for Touch of the Forgotten to wear off, leaving you unable to heal until you can prep it again!

WTF DO ART FOR ME?! PLEASE?!?!

Does he get one 25 reduction for every BSS that's active?

Advice of the Week: Natural talent beats hard work every time.

Nemo wants YOU to help him in his quest. Talking in 3rd person ftw.

Witty line here.

Very good, although the attack descriptions could stand to be taken off, making the actual use of the skill hard to understand....
ah yes and.. Nice Art! incredible!

Pops... I... Can't believe! This is even BETTER than Miyoko! Really, i love it. The art is the best i have seen for a while! Damn, too bad you don't have time to donate it to anyone, when you get a vacation?
I think Soul Burn Sacrifice is more original than any of my moves. Or is it? Dunno, but it's good!
By the way, haven't you checked my collection? One Kita clanner is there, self made!

i had to log on to comment on this, lol!

Nobu's art is arguably the BEST i've seen among the custom characters in the competition! he looks really cool, kudos to you.

like what Nemo asked, does SBS add 25 percent damage reduction everytime he uses it (maximum of 75 percent DR)?

for me, he deserves to be in the game... instantly one of my faves!

edit: ok don't answer my question, i just read the explanation... i must've skipped it hehe

LOL thanks for the instant positive feedback guys! And to answer all your questions at once, YES! Soul Burn Sacrifice DOES stack according to how many people Soul Burn Sacrifice is attacking. So 25% defense for 1 target, 50% for 2, and 75% for 3! Don't forget though, the 5 damage you take stacks on you aswell!
5, 10, or 15 Damage to yourself with each application! Damage ignores damage reduction skills on you aswell! Use some judgement when deciding how many targets you want to attack!

Remember to heal yourself when you can!
Healing acts the same way, strength of the heal depends on the targets affected by Touch of the Forgotten which will hit the whole team if no one is blocking. 10, 20, or 30 health to your whole team once every 4 rounds.

I know you mentioned that before and I looked to find it in your collection but never saw who it was! What is that character's name? Obviously I looked for Kita but still I couldn't seem to find it!

My only worry with this guy is the extremely high cooldowns. Assuming you do manage to get all three SBS in play, he's just going to end up sitting there doing nothing and dying for most of the time (not to mention he'd be eaten alive by poisoners and gai). I'd really prefer that he was a little more accessible, but if I'm the only one who feels this way, then... Um, if you're unwilling to alter the cooldowns and/or effects slightly, then do you think you could please add a poll asking whether he should be verified or not as is?

You know what? Your right. I'm making a major change to how you can use the team heal now. I'm removing the cooldown entirely since it is really dependent on the cooldown of Touch of the Forgotten. Doubled up cool downs are pretty pointless. With this change, something else is now possible. Since Touch of the Forgotten is active for two rounds, you now have the ability to heal your team two rounds in a row if you have the chakra available! This will help combat things like poison and gai and baki's attacks that aren't affected by damage reduction.
On another note, if you are fighting gai or baki, those guys are still going to be Gosuto's greatest threats and should take priority. Be smart and dont use Soul Burn Sacrifice on the entire enemy team, just do it to the critical target to minimize the damage you take on until that target is killed. There's no situation a little strategy (and luck) can't take you through!

*sharp instake of breath* Are... you sure? Because, if you do manage to get all three SBS out there, 30 health a turn is extremely powerful... What about a one turn cooldown or costing two ninjutsu?

Remember that Embrace of the Maidens will only work immediately back to back every 4 rounds. It requires Touch of the Forgotten so healing has an indirect cooldown. Just because Embrace of the Maidens doesn't have a cooldown anymore doesn't mean it's possible to use it every round, even if you have the chakra available. Because this heal relies on a seperate technique to work (Touch of the Forgotten), you only get two rounds to work with thanks to Touch of the Forgotten's two round duration. You would need to already have two ninjutsu's saved up or hope you get one the very next turn to use it twice. So the chances of you pulling off this repeatedly for the maximum effect is very unlikely because of the variables involved.
Another reason why this number works out perfectly is because over the course of 4 rounds, if Soul Burn Sacrifice is affecting all 3 targets, Gosuto will recieve 15 damage each round for a total of 60 damage between opportunities to heal. 30 points of healing back to back will be needed in this case to offset the damage he would be taking even though at that point he will have a 75% defense bonus against attacks.

I didn't see that it had a prerequisite.
