Seethe Chapter 4

#1 this is the fourth chapter of Seethe, a story by me. the following are links to previous chapters: Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3. A man was hunched over on the cold dirt. Blood gurgled in his throat and he spat it upon the ground. He felt his eyes begin to tear up. "Please spare me," he wept, "I don't want to die." "There is no mercy for the weak," a murderous voice returned from the shadows. A powerful hand grasped the man around the throat and lifted him into the air. "No...please...please don't!," the man screamed, "No...nooooo..." His cry was cut short as his neck snapped with a sickening crack. The murderer started to chuckle; then he burst out in a full laugh. "Another successful night," he said, as if murder was a routine thing, "Time to get going then." The killer broke into a steady run as he made his way along the dark, wet streets... Hiro awoke to the sun coming in through his window. His legs were very tired. "Dammit guys," he murmured, "Did you run me all over town? Surely it couldn't have been that hard to find someone." "The news reports the murders," the voices replied, "People avoid the streets at night." Hiro turned on the news. Sure enough, the murder story was on. "A man in his late 30's was found dead in the streets today. His neck appeared to have been broken," the news anchor stated, "The reason for the murder is currently unknown but if you have any information please contact..." Hiro turned the news off and looked down at his hands. They were covered in crusty blood. As he washed them in his kitchen sink he glanced at the calendar on the fridge. "Only a few days until Shin's funeral," he said, "I guess I'll have to buy some nice clothes. I'll do it after school today..." Hiro tried to avoid talking to people at school. He never knew when someone he talked to would "mysteriously" turn up dead over night. Even in trying to isolate himself from society, there were certain people he couldn't avoid talking to. One of these people was Mimi. As Hiro made his way home he thought long and hard to himself about what he would do about Mimi. He could never tell her the truth, but he didn't want her to be hurt by the voices' evil will either. For all of his new found apathy, Hiro could not cut his bonds with Mimi, nor did he want to. He felt that he still loved her. Hiro scowled, "Someone as corrupted as me should not use words like love." "Hey Hiro," Mimi said gloomily. "Wha? Oh, hey Mimi," Hiro said wakening from deep thought, "I didn't see you there." "Are you ready for Shin's..." she said not wanting to finish the sentence. "I still have to get something to wear," Hiro said. "Um...do you mind taking me home?," Mimi asked shyly, looking down at the ground. "No," he said, "No that's fine. Let's go." Hiro and Mimi arrived on the doorstep to Mimi's house. "Well I guess I better go..." Hiro said. "No!," Mimi burst out, "I mean, please don't go. I just..." Mimi broke down and began to cry. Hiro cradled her for comfort. She cried long and hard on his shoulder. "I can't believe he's dead Hiro," she cried, "I miss him so much." "I know," Hiro lied through his teeth, "But you have to be strong. You know that Shin wouldn't want to see you like this." "You're right," Mimi said meekly, "I won't cry anymore." "Good," Hiro said, "I hate to see you cry." "Hiro," Mimi said in a, possibly faked, innocent tone, "Don't leave me. I need a big, strong man to keep me safe." She moved in closer, her faced approached his, her fingers played across his chest. Hiro mentally gulped. "No," he thought, "This is wrong." Their faces were almost touching now. Her lips brushed his. Hiro felt himself move instinctively. He began to kiss her back. Mimi's hand groped for the doorknob; she opened the door and pushed Hiro in. After closing and locking the door she turned to Hiro with a devious stare. She grabbed his shirt and pulled him, not entirely against his will, upstairs...to her bedroom. "I shouldn't do this," he thought, "Not after everything that has happened." Hiro's hands were moving of their own accord; they were practically ripping off Mimi's clothes. Mimi's hands, in return, tore at Hiro's clothes as well. She dragged him down to the bed and kissed his neck. "This is wrong," Hiro thought. "But you've wanted it for so long," he told himself. Was it Hiro or the voices who spoke? He did not know and he did not care. Hiro felt as if his senses had been magnified tenfold. She smelled intoxicating; she felt so smooth; he could hear her breath rise and fall quickly, as if panting; she seemed to have an angelic glow about her form; her lips and tongue tasted sweet. Hiro no longer wanted to fight it, his body gained control.
