it's an anime that was rated as the most watched in the year 2006 (in japan). here's the official english trailer (i don't think a japanese one exists) click.
the genres r comedy and science-fiction.

important things u need to know if u wanna watch it:
-it's (very) hard to understand the plot
-the broadcasting of the episodes is really messed up (the 13th episode (broadcast) is for example the 5th (chronologicaly)-that's why i advice u check the names of the episodes

I don't think the plot is hard to understand, it's just that the order of episodes airing makes it hard to follow the plot.
Since the episodes aren't going in chronological order it gives the series it's own good and down sides.
Although I have to admit I felt this being somewhat close to "Evangelion" in it's own way, it was still great.
After seeing the original version of Haruhi in the order of the episodes aired all I can say is that you better watch it in that order. Surely it might turn out to be little confusing for some and hard to follow, but it makes it rather unique experience.
I'm actually very curious how they're gonna do the dubbing of couple scenes in Haruhi.
I can't think of the name who's the VA for Haruhi, but I can say that much that I've heard her doing the dubbing for quite many animes that's been published on DVDs.
Honestly, I don't think she sounds like Haruhi at all from the trailers I've heard her voice and from that Haruhi trailer itself.

I'm also dying to hear out Tsuruya's voice. She speaks rather oddly in the original version so I'm kind of hoping the English dub will at least try to get on same level.

Haruhi ultimately is my favorite.
I like slightly of Yuki too, Tsuruya as well.
Class representative was also rather wacky.
Kyon was also rather interesting guy.
I wouldn't mind to be in his situation.

i hate haruhi lol. she's loud, annoying and doesn't care for anyone but kyon. yup she's kinda bitchy. but i gotta admit that pic is cool.
