3. Pro and Contra
4. Regular Attacks
5. Smashes
6. Aerials
7. Throws
8. Specials
9. Final Smash
10. Taunts
11. Techniques
12. The life of Pikmin
Extra: Gameplay Videos

1. Intro:
Captain Olimar, an employee of Hocotate Freight Company that flies a ship known as the S.S. Dolphin. He has a wife, son, and daughter that he communicates with after every day. After becoming stranded on the "Distant Planet", Olimar becomes acquainted with the species of plant-like beings that he names "Pikmin" because they resemble the "Pikpik" brand of carrots on his homeworld. They are small, brightly colored creatures who stand only an inch tall. They follow any command from attacking and defending Olimar. And that’s how he defeats his opponents in Brawl. Pikmin Power!

2. Soundtracks: (click them)
Clear Stage (<--best song, best choice. Don’t let yourself be fooled by the beginning)
Main Theme (<--good old times with the first game)
Pikmin 2: World Map (<--kind of annoying)
Forest of Hope (<--we have the Main Theme, so why this?)
Ai no Uta (French) (<--clearly better than the Japanese version)
Tane no Uta (<--likeable)

3. Pro and Contra:

Pro:
-Very good Tether Grab
-Superior range
-Easy to rack up damage with
-Surprisingly powerful
-Amazing meteor smash
-Both offensive and defensive

Contra:
-Pikmin can be killed
-Light-weight
-Poor recovery
-Perfect Pikmin control is difficult
-Tether Grab stops at edges
-Vulnerable without Pikmin

4. Regular Attacks:

Combo A:
3 hits (2 for the first attack)
Damage:
1st hit = 2%
2nd hit = 3%
3rd hit = 10%
Added: 15%
Range: Average, partly protects Olimar’s back.
Knockback: Low
Conclusion: Comes quick and should be used in close combat if the opponent is at a low percentage. The two attacks are easily chainable so you aren’t vulnerable after the second hit.

F-Tilt:
Damage: 6%
Range: Avergae
Knockback: Acceptable
Conclusion: Best way to get rid of the opponent if he is behind you.
Also serves as a surprise attack since enemies tend to forget about Olimar’s Tilts.

U-Tilt:
8 hits
Damage:
1st-7th hit: 1%
8th hit: 4%
Added: 11%
Range: Very low
Knockback: Weak
Conclusion: Racks up easy damage. Chainable if the enemy is at a low percentage. Keep the poor range in mind though.

D-Tilt:
2 hits (2nd one does not make the enemy flinch!)
Damage:
1st hit: 6%
2nd hit: 2%
Added: 8%
Range: Average
Knockback: Rather weak
Conclusion: On the one hand more helpful than the F-Tilt because it has the same range but is chainable at low percentages. Olimar is also better protected since he ducks while performing the move. On the other hand the knockback isn’t so good and fortunately the delay is minimal so you only have to watch out if you use this move against fast aerial brawlers.

Running A:
2 hits
Damage:
1st hit: 7%
2nd hit: 4%
Added: 11%
Range: Low
Knockback: Good
Conclusion: There are better moves but it’s quite helpful to juggle your opponent or surprise him if he abuses the spot dodge in hopes of avoiding Olimar’s Tether Grab.

Recoveries:
Edge (low %): 8% of damage, is quick and has surprising good range.
Edge (high %): 10% of damage, with enough knockback.
Ground: 6% of damage, enough knockback here as well.

5. Smashes:
Explanation: The small Pikmin represent which one of them deals how much damage.
Maximal damage is delivered by using a fully charged smash.

F-Smash:
Damage: =9-21% =6-18% =6-21% =18-25% =3-12%
Range: Very good.
Knockback: Good (weaker if the opponent is not close)
Conclusion: The defensive attack of Olimar per se. The range of the attack and low delay enables an easy counter if the opponent dares to roll towards you. It also serves as a pretty good edge guard because the Pikmin fall over the edge.

U-Smash:
Damage: =14-21% =12-19% =13-21% =13-22% =7-12%
Range: Good.
Knockback: Amazing (kills mid-weight at about 80%)
Conclusion: Without a doubt Olimar’s best smash. Not only is it incredibly fast, it also has almost no delay and is quite powerful let alone the white Pikmin. A very good killing move for the opponent who is edge recovering or on a platform.

D-Smash:
Damage: =10-18% =8-15% =9-16% =12-21% =4-8%
Range: Good. No difference between Pikmin.
Knockback: Hellish good (kills mid-weight at 90%)
Conclusion: Covers both sides, comes quick, is powerful, and hasn’t that much of a delay. As mentioned, best used if the enemy rolls towards you to avoid the F-Smash. Has priority over F-Tilt if the enemy is standing behind you while having a relatively high percentage.

6. Aerials:

N-Air:
6 hits
Damage: Each 2%
Added: 12%
Range: Low
Knockback: Weak
Conclusion: Should not be underestimated. It racks up damage easily, is chainable or combinable with the U-Air, and is surprising if the enemy awaits the Pikmin Chain after he suffered a down- or up-throw. He is going to aerial dodge and hence he hits the full force of an N-Air and U-Air combo.

F-Air:
Damage: =15% =12% =13% =14% =5%
Range: Average
Knockback: Good
Conclusion: Olimar’s killing aerial move next to the D-Air. It’s insanely fast and you can retreat with your second jump after short hopping. Of course it is also helpful to create save space between you and your opponent.

B-Air:
Damage: =11-13% =9-12% =10-13% =10-13% =4-5%
Range: Average
Knockback: Average
Conclusion: F-Air has definitely priority in Olimar’s aerial game. The B-Air comes less fast, has minimally more delay, and is weaker. Should only be used for spacing or quick aerial defensive.

U-Air:
7 hits
Damage: =3-24% =2-16% =3-22% =3-22% =1-9%
Range: Good
Knockback: Good
Conclusion: As mentioned, combinable with N-Air. This move itself can also be chainable, can even kill, but is a bit difficult to use if you don’t have a yellow or red pikmin leading. But no worries. If the last hit fails, you have still enough space between you and your opponent to retreat, get back onto the ground faster, and thus counter.

D-Air:
Meteor Smash
Damage: =7-16% =6-12% =6-14% =6-14% =4-8%
Range: Average
Knock Back: Very good
Conclusion: Emphasized in “Pro and Contra”. It is one of the best meteor smashes of the game. It comes incredibly fast, is very powerful, and doesn’t even have that much delay. Can also be a tricky move against smaller enemies which are catapulted into the air if hit while being on the ground. Just watch out if you are still able to grab the edge with the Pikmin Chain after meteor smashing.

7. Throws:

Grab A:
Damage: =2% =2% =2% =2% =4%
Conclusion: The white Pikmin may be weak and also is inferior to the others when it comes to throwing but at higher percentages, using it to rack up damage by grab attacking is almost better then throwing the enemy off the stage.

Forward Throw:
Damage: =6% =7% =13% =7% =6%
Knockback: Average
Conclusion: Can be a killer and should be used to throw the enemy off the stage if he is at a higher percentage. Doing this also brings the opponent into a situation in which he is quite vulnerable to Olimar’s Meteor Smash.

Backward Throw:
Damage: =7% =9% =14% =9% =7%
Knockback: Good
Conclusion: Works the same as Forward Throw but is minimally more powerful. Hence it can safely be used earlier.

Upward Throw:
Damage: =9% =11% =12% =11% =6%
Knockback: Good
Conclusion: Easily combinable with Pikmin Chain, N-Air, and U-Air. Olimar is overall really good at juggling the enemy so make use of it as much as you can. But don’t abuse it or you are very likely to become predictable.

Downward Throw:
Damage: =9% =8% =12% =8% =6%
Knockback: Weak
Conclusion: Do I hear someone saying „Chain Grab“? Yes, Olimar can chain grab at very low percentages so use this instead of the Upward Throw if N-Air and U-Air can’t hit yet. However the weaker knockback enables killing by using the F-Air or F-Smash, sometimes the U-Smash as well. Instead of Chain Grabbing you can also try this: D-Throw, D-Tilt, D-Tilt, U-Tilt, U-Air.

8. Specials:

B: Pikmin Pluck:
Speed: 1 Pikmin per 0,2 seconds.
Advanced Technique: PCA (Pluck Cancel Attack / explained later)
Conclusion: Well, Olimar is nearly defenseless without his Pikmin. However it’s not necessary to run around with six Pikmin. You will know why later on. Gladly, “restocking” Pikmin works fast so don’t panic when you are run out of Pikmin.

F-B: Pikmin Throw:
Up to 8 hits
Damage: =2-16% =2-16% =2-16% =6% (1 hit + knockback) =6-48%
Range: Amazing. White>Red and Blue>Yellow>Purple
Knockback: Weak.
Conclusion: Throwing a purple Pikmin can be surprising because the enemy thinks he is free to charge at you because Pikmin won’t stop him. That’s why he is likely to be hit and thrown backwards. Otherwise you can easily rack up damage by throwing Pikmin. And the enemy is definitely going to use a smash attack or N-Air if he is covered by at least 2 Pikmin. Use this knowledge to get an easy hit or even an easy kill.

U-B: Pikmin Chain:
Damage: =7% =6% =6% =8% =6%
Range: Low – High (less Pikmin, less range)
Knockback: Weak
Conclusion: It’s funny how every Pikmin in the chain has the chance to hit, not only the first or last one. It is also notable that using the Pikmin Chain does not change the Pikmin in their order. Anyway, as you might remember, using this while not recovering is the best idea after an Up- or Down-Throw but it can also counter aerial approaches from specialists like Jigglypuff or Wario. For god’s sake, do not use this in midair if not for recovering!

D-B: Pikmin Order:
Method: First Pikmin walks to the end of the row and the previously second one is now leading.
Speed: 0,3 seconds until you are able to move again.
Advanced Technique: Whistle Attack (explained later)
Special Ability: Super Armor during the first frame.
Conclusion: Do I really need to explain this? The best and only way to control which Pikmin you are going to use.

9. Final Smash: End of day:
Damage:
1st hit: 10% (crushes the enemy into the ground immobilizing him)
2nd hit: 15% (ready for take-off! Cya later!)
Multiple hits by raging monsters at night: ~42% Final hit: 30% (hits the middle of the stage and creates an explosion which can kill a mid-weight at 90% making this Final Smash a possible instant kill)
Meteor Smash: The first hit can be used as a meteor smash.
Conclusion: Now this is quite unfair actually especially on small stages. The efficiency of the first and second attack are debatable but being unable to avoid the monsters and not exactly seeing where you are when the rocket crashes down makes this a quite unfair Final Smash. The Pikmin are left where they are when the rocket takes off by the way. Therefore using the rocket as a meteor smash could lead to the loss of all your Pikmin if you don’t press Down B quickly enough.

10. Taunts:

Up Taunt: Olimar hops three times as a sign of joy. And that humping sound he makes is too pimp.
Coolness: 8/10

Side Taunt: Olimar lays on the ground and turns one time. It’s like rolling the eyes using the whole body.
Coolness: 9/10

Down Taunt: Olimar is swivelling his hips! It’s better than “my balls in your face”!
Coolness: 11/10

11. Techniques:

Pluck Cancel Attack:
Can you remember when I said that running around with six Pikmin isn’t that much of a good idea like many players think? Well, plucking a Pikmin cancels your running and you can instantly use any move you want after only 0,1 seconds. However it does not work when you already have six Pikmin. This is the best way to surprise the enemy and is quite out of Olimar’s usually approaching methods.

Pluck Hog:
Run towards the edge, stop pressing the control stick, and then press B to pluck a Pikmin and to grab the edge.
click here to see the video demonstration

Whistle Counter:
Olimar gains super armor during the first frame of Pikmin Order. This means that he takes damage but does not flinch. And since the delay of Pikmin Order is very low, you can instantly counter with any move you want. Naturally, it requires timing and is hard to pull of in laggy online matches.

Pikmin Desync:
When a purple Pikmin is returning and is hit by an attack while being close to Olimar, you can make it use the Up-Smash by himself. click here, happens at 1:00

12. The life of Pikmin:
They sure don’t have an easy life do they? Being under Olimar’s order, fighting for him, dying for him…
Well let’s not think about it and look at each of them individually.

Red Pikmin:

Ability: Are not harmed by fire.
Recommended attacks: Actually all smashes and aerials.

Yellow Pikmin:

Ability: Are not harmed by electricity. They have a taller body.
Recommended attacks: Aerials, especially U-Air since the opponent is trapped at one spot by electricity and thus is very likely to suffer all hits.

Blue Pikmin:

Ability: Can take more hits than other Pikmin. More damage for throws.
Recommended attacks: Smashes, throws, and aerials except for the U-Air. (Traction does not work too well)

Purple Pikmin:

Ability: Most powerful race of Pikmin. Desync. Pikmin Throw has knockback.
Recommended attacks: Smashes and aerials including U-Air. (Traction almost works as good as with Red Pikmin)

White Pikmin:

Ability: Poisonous. Light, thus can’t take many hits, but therefore more range.
Recommended attacks: Grab attack, Pikmin throw, Forward Smash (<--defensive)

Florescence:
If you think that Pikmin with a flower are stronger than ones with a leaf, then you are wrong. If you think that flowered ones deliver more knock back, then you are wrong as well. And if you think that flowered ones can grab (onto) the enemy for a longer time, then you are dead wrong. The only thing that differs Pikmin with a flower on their head from the ones with a bud or a leaf is that the flowered ones can simply take more hits. They don’t die so easily anymore! Pikmin with a bud can also take more hits but not as much as flowered ones.

Pikmin Power:
F- and U-Smash range: >
Pikmin Throw range: >>>
D-Smash range: Don’t fool yourself. There is no difference in range.
Aerials Range: It does not feel that way but it’s true. >
Knockback: >>

Extra: Gameplay Videos:
It’s your choice if you play offensively or defensively with Olimar. These videos will give you a vague idea of what Olimar can do.
vs Metaknight (yes, I am aware that he did spam smashes like crazy)
vs Lucas
vs Marth
vs vs Fox

Fourth post done because of lag. I may add that I won't add a strategy guide.
You can't really tell someone how to play and besides I already did that.
