A handheld game device is a lightweight, portable electronic machine for playing video games. Unlike video game consoles, the controls, screen and speakers are all part of a single unit.

Before, handhelds were dominated by the GameBoy. But as competitions arise, several companies released pretenders that catered to every type of gamers. I personally have a PSP, and I'm proud to say I maximize every feature it has. And it has changed the way I play games, somehow.

What do you think is the best?

The poll shows only the known portable gaming devices in the market that has hit mainstream, please suggest if I forgot something.

i personally think the PSP is the best but the best one i have played is DS (i have no PSP

own a Psp and Ds, I just stopped playing my Psp.......I dont know why, it was ok though, I just love all the touchscreen games for Ds one of the good non-nintendo ones is Viewtful Joe

At the moment, the PSP doesn't have enough good games to merit itself on top of the DS.

However, I own both and enjoy them both very much. It's a close race.

That....hardly said anything about the games....graphics are not everything. If I wanted internet, images, and movies, I'd get a laptop or a comp. More expensive, but more practical. Yes it can play movies and music, but that takes up alot of battery life, and kills space.

I voted DS. I prefer the GBA, but I put DS as it can play GBA games.

And ley, by your definition, the original Gameboy is not a hand held. Nothing lightweight about that thing.

Lol, during those times it was lightweight. The GameGear by Sega was more bulky and heavier, but is also considered as one.
