EDIT: It's great to see you all too, but to keep this from having too many off-topic posts, please direct your sentiments to PMs or the thread I made in the introduction forum here.
EDIT #2: I'm not looking for you to make full-blown characters for me, just create the basic template so that I can fill in all the information and pictures myself.
EDIT #3: I'm starting to remember why I left in the first place. When I ask for creativity here, I get blank, vacuous stares. Don't insult me. I'm the Deity of Creation for a reason. I don't need you to get the CHARACTER INFORMATION for me. I would like some ideas on alternate looks for the TEMPLATE, please. If you still don't get it, please click on the images below.
Well, as some of you may have seen yesterday, I'm back, and I'm in the mood to create characters. But as the Deity of Creation, making them in the regular template just won't cut it anymore. Not to mention the fact that there's the entirely new aspect of move classes which have to be accounted for. So I turn to you, the collective artistic N-B community, to find it in your hearts to assist a fallen hero in his time of need.
However, I'm afraid that I'm going to have a few rules that need to be laid down. After all, I am a perfectionist. Don't worry, they're nothing major, and as long as you're a decent person I'm sure you won't find them to be any sort of hindrance whatsoever. ^_^
What I'm Looking For
I want someone who...
-is creative. I don't have a clear idea in mind of just how I'd like the finished product to look, so I'll be needing someone who can come up with a lot of the design on their own based on, possibly, the most meager of suggestions from me.
-can handle criticism. I've seen too many self-victimizers during my time on the internet to hold back on what I want to say just to spare someone's feelings. If I don't like something you're doing, I'm going to tell you.
-is patient. Because what i want is still so vague, this is undoubtedly going to take time as I see things I like and things I don't. You need to be able to bear with my nit-picking.
-has a basic grasp of the English language. As much as I hate it, the fact of the matter is that I'm biased against people who type poorly. It's not like I'll turn you away if you make the occasional typo now and again, but if I have to try to decipher everything you say, even if you're the best GFXer out there, I'm going to get fed up eventually.
-can send me the finished product as a .psd file. Sorry GIMPers, it's what I have.
Now, you're probably wondering just why anyone would want to put up with all these demands.
Why You Should Consider Offering Your Services:
By aiding me, the ex-mod of moderate fame, in this, my grand and noble quest, not only will you receive all spoils of a battle well-fought, but you shall also be endowed with...
-fame. As mentioned, when I was on the staff I did gain a fair amount of renown and a not-completely-insignificant fanbase. Even though time has passed since that age, there are undoubtedly still a few of the old gang around. And so, you shall become known as He (or She) Who was Able to Assist when No Others Could among them. I'll make sure of it. ^_~
-advertising opportunities. If you so wish it, you may add your own bit of personalization, whether it be your signature, initials, a "Made by," tag, etc.
-word-of-mouth. As this is intended to be the template I'll be using for all my custom character needs, it will be able to be seen in every thread that I make to post them in. If that's not an effect way to show people what you're capable of, I don't know what is.
-my undying gratitude. 'nough said.
Now we get to the nitty-gritty; what I actually want. Well... that's totally up in the air at this point. So I suppose you could consider this a form of auditioning. Show me your best ideas for a new template design, and I'll pick and choose from among the entries offered. Remember, I'm looking for originality before all else. Now, whether you go about this by lining up all the moves on one side, having sections bleed into each other, or even making the whole thing a little bigger or smaller, it's totally up to you. As long as it's like nothing I've seen before, you'll be good to go.
Oh, last but not least I should mention some things that appeal to me more than others. Use them as a form of suggestion for what to do if you'd like.
1. An epic picture in the background, probably from an anime. Generic stuff like Naruto and Bleach is okay, but not really preferable, unless it's truly epic. The types of anime I'm into are much deeper, such as Fate/Stay Night, MaiHiME, Code Geass, etc. Fluffy cute romances and mecha are good too, though I tend to stick to Gundam series as far as the latter is concerned. Shots from video games are also valid possibilities, and stick to the same criteria.
2. Sleek and sharp things such as name boxes that curve off on one side and fade towards the bottom are always a good choice. If you have to choose between something that looks blunt and smash-y and something that looks thin and slash-y, always go with the latter.
3. Cool blues, greens, and purples are top color choices with me, but please don't make it totally dark and emo.
Let it also be known that the new updates to the game are made of pure l337 and win.
