Chat rules and guidelines

#1 As I get many people here complaining they got banned and we (the mods) should be removed as well because of it. I decided to post some rules and guidelines here. When you join a channel the first thing you should do is read the topic. For instance #naruto-arena Quote ::: Welcome to #naruto-arena - Official channel for www.naruto-arena.com :::: - :::: Type !rules for rules. :::: As you can see it asks for newcommers to type the word "!rules" When you have typed that and press enter (Obviously ) you'll get all the basic rules you should follow. I'll get into detail later. Now let us go into detail for the rules: ~ Flaming of ANY kind is an instant kick or ban We do NOT and I repeat do NOT tolerate flaming. Flaming is insulting others or other things. When you curse we can tolerate it if it's not overused. Cursing is more like: "Aw fucking hell" ~ No advertising (That means no other channels and/or websites) We used to have more people telling in the main channel to go to #channelA or #channelB than they were speaking. So I enforced the no advertising rule. Also people spamming their clanwebsite is not tolerated. It's pretty anoying to constantly see. "Join my clan the website is www.clanweb.com" We'd prefer to keep the clanrecruiting in the forums. I am aware lot's of people type the channel in the channel (lol) just so they can double click it. Well don't do that. Go to the bottom of this post to see how you should do it. ~ English ONLY I know this rule might sound egoistic, but it really isn't. The English only rule is there because of several reasons. Namely: We can't keep the channel clean from rulebreaking if we don't understand the language. If averyone keeps talking their own language the channel will become a mess. Anyway before you jump to conclusions I'm not english myself! It's English only because English is a language most people understand and most people can type it out (although not always correct). ~ NO roleplaying - go to #na-roleplay for that People chat about the game in the channel among about regular every day stuff. When other people are doing actions the whole time (/me command) it gets annoying. If you really want to roleplay you can go to #na-roleplay. ~ No CAPS abuse This is one of the rules you get AUTO banned for. When you violate the rule once you get a warning. After the second time you get a 10 minute ban. When banned don't pm me calling me a bitch or whatever. For the people who don't know what caps abuse it here's an example: "OMG I JUST MADE THE BEST CLAN EVER TYPE 15264156 TO JOIN MY CLAN NOW" ~ No OP/Mod begging Whenever I feel like there is need for a new moderator in the channel I'll speak to the person I want and give him power. So don't ask me or other mods how to get power. ~ No racial slurs Do I really need to explain this? Do know we CAN take jokes though. ~ No /me abuse (typing in purple thing) Same as the No roleplay rule! ~ No spamming and/or flooding and/or repeating I always wonder why people start spamming/flooding I mean what's there to it to constantly type: fdsqfdqs fdsqfdqs fdsqfdsqhgfjh fgsdsf That's flood AND spam in one ;) Flooding is typing text really fast. Human impossible fast that is ;) Spamming is typing nonsense (like the "fdstgdsfgfds") Repeating is saying the same thing over and over. The anti repeating works the same as the no caps abuse rule. (The warning + 10min auto banning) ~ Don't tell power people when to kick/ban and/or enforce rules! We as mods will always ban when we feel a rule is broken. So don't tell us who to ban. IRC GUIDELINES: For people who like to use www.mirc.com The server is irc.rizon.net And the channel is #naruto-arena To change your name once online type: /nick newname To join a channel don't type it in the channel you're allready in.
