Tournament Definition
Tournaments are players uniting under one host to play series of private battles. Tournaments are mostly played for fame, glory or a way to get rid of boredom.
Types of Tournaments
•Normal Tournament: A tournament in which players play one other player until only one is left standing. The number of players should be a even number that should vary from Four, Eight or Sixteen. Using those numbers, there won’t be anyone left without a match each round. Normally matches are sudden death until the last round in which matches are it best out of three.
•Tag Tournament: Two players play as one. Two players play against another pair until only one pair is left standing.
Ex:
Player 1 vs. Player A
Player 2 vs. Player B
If Player 1 and 2 win, their team advances. If they both lose they do not go on to the next round. If one player from each side wins, the winners must face off and the winner of that match has their team go on to the next round. This tournament is played like a normal tournament other than that.
•Restriction Tournament: This tournament is played like a normal tournament except a restriction player has to choose a certain team, or cannot use certain characters in a tournament is in which atournament.
•Luck Tournament: A luck tournament is played like a normal tournament and a restriction tournament. The player chooses a number/character/image and based on their choice they have to play with certain rules throughout that round or tournament.
Terms
Most are self explanatory, but incase you are wondering here is a list of terms that are important to know in a tournament.

Match Ups – List that shows who private battles who.
Rounds – Levels of tournaments were the remaining players are separated from the losers.
Glitch – A mess up in the game, an error.
Cheap Teams - a team that is looked down on.
Sudden Death – playing only once
Best out of three (2/3) – playing a match three times and winning two of those rounds to go forward into the next round.

How to join a tournament
It is really simple, just find a tournament that is being hosted and post that you want to join. Just make sure that you join one that has not started and before posting, you should read all the rules. When posting be courteous and ask politely. Be sure what type of tournament it might be as well.

Proper etiquette
When joining a tournament do not behave like a child. Some formal things to do are:
- Say good luck before searching
- Tell a person they played a well game
- Do not get angry if you lose or do not get in
- Follow basic naruto-arena/boards rules
- Don't try to take charge if you are not the host

Creating a tournament
To make a tournament all you have to do is post a topic in the tournament section, but before you jump in you should read the following.
___________________________________________________________________
Planning
It is always a good idea to think before posting. Before making a tournament the following you must consider is
- How much time you plan to stay online
- What type of tournament it will be
- rules
-Timing
-ect
Rules
Before making a tournament plan out the rules, here is a simple template you may use.
wrote:
1. Naruto-Boards.com rules apply
2. Please be respectful
3. Disconnections are counted as a lose unless both players agree to it
4. Matches are sudden death until the last match
5. Do not mention others team.
6. Have fun
Banners
Some tournaments have fancy banners. To get these banners you have to make them, or request for them.
~Will be updated with public banners soon
Match ups
When choosing match ups you can just choose the players you want in the tournament and pair them off at random. If there are more than 16 people joining only choose 16 and tell the others sorry since anymore than 16 players is against the rules. If no one is joining don’t fret, it might be a slow day on NB.
Prizes
For a prize you can choose to maker a userbar, or write their username in a winner list that you post in each of your tournament.

Spam and Flame
Forum Rules By Betrayer wrote:
Spam: A message and/or topic that is pointless, off-topic, or otherwise lacks content that adds to the discussion. Topics with misleading titles are also considered spam, regardless of the message content.
Forum Rules By Betrayer wrote:
Flaming: Any posts meant to offend or hurt any other member in a manner which is offensive and/or insulting. Even calling someone a n00b is considered light flaming.
If a member begins to post spam or flames during your topic, the best thing to do would be to ignore them and immedietly post on the topic, warning the rest of the players to ignore that player. You can also PM a moderator to stop that person and give our suitable punishments.
