Heh...I had a feeling that Shunni would get here before I would. Dammit -.-. Alright...let's get a few things started off right. People...why is it the bigger the sword, the more you like the person? Seriously...try picking up a Claymore sometime. Very hard to swing...and they aren't even used to cut. They're used to crush bones >.>...but I digress. This is what Cloud really is...a failure. They even go so far to even say it in the game. He was too weak...so he took on the role of Zack. He never grows at all...when the game is over he's the same as how he started. The only reason you people like Sephiroth and Cloud are because of the weapons they weild. If they were both white mages...hah.

Now...to who my favorites are. In regards to a character that is just my favorite...Locke easily takes that. Just because of the fact that he's so strong...yet so weak at the same time. Locke is defenately one of the more flawed characters in Final Fantasy VI. I mean...he's a theif, he's stuck in the past...hell he even gets sea sick. At the same time, he's one of the stronger people in the series, as he pretty much saves Celes from killing herself (although without realizing it).

And to my other choice. As previously stated...Cecil is another one of my favorites. Again...another very flawed character. I mean...he commanded a team who went and killed priests. Would you sleep at night? Yeah...neither did he. Towards the middle of the game, he's so devout in his new decision, that he completely walks away from his past and no longer is a Dark Knight. He becomes the exact opposite...a Paladin. Point being...he's probably the strongest character in the whole series in terms of will power and pure determination

Edit- Oh, and for the record. Even though I HATE Final Fantasy X...all of you Tidus bashers are forgetting one huge thing: Tidus holds the record so far in all of Final Fantasy for best character in terms of the damage they can dish out in one turn. Blitz Ace was so damn overpowered -.-...

cooli think every characters good in there own way but cloud wasnt weak maybe a little mentally but that wasnt his fault, he was experimented on..... also so what if his swords big (Thats not why I like him)he uses it with imense speed(id like to see squall try to use a buster, even though he dosnt need them, because hes still pretty awesome....), also i think he had the best story line of any character ever, and the games story line was also very amazing
oh and kanes pretty cool to.

I think if Squall can knock a 5+ ton beast in the air with one swipe, he can handle a 80+ pound zweihandler...

But for the most part I think its Squall's upbringing, education, the possibilities of junction abilites that make him one of the stronger main charecters.

And I think its his dedication, man-ing up to responsibilities, and tactical prowness that make him a good hero

He didn't want to be head master, but he took on the job without much fuss. Then took on a better manned, better gunned, better funded SeeD Garden.

I mean, taking care of a school of (I'm guessing) 3,000+ students and staff (many still children) is no walk in the park... Squall was only 17

(Now, think about what Cloud was doing when he was 17...? Getting his ass kicked and failling missions... And Cloud could't deal with one child and an adult, let alone 3000 of them... and Squall had the rougher childhood...<.<)

Don't get me wrong... Squall had problems too

Squall: Don't talk about this like it's been decided since by birth! (I don't mind fighting the sorceress. It's unavoidable as long as I'm a SeeD member.) (What? AS long as I'm a SeeD member?) (What if I quit?) (Quit... Then what? What do I have left?) (Don't even want to think about it. Just stop thinking...)

But he didn't let them interfere with the well being of others.... except Rinoa and Quistis, paracitic harlots, trying to worm themselves into his heart...<.< even then it was only emotional and not health related

Dude...I had a customized weapon that broke the damage limit (No...not the legendary weapon. I made my own that was better). I could easily dish out almost 1 million

X. Lemme add up all the damage I could do real quick. Blitz ace hit about 8 times right? Then the final hit...okay. Total my Tidus could do...O.o...holy shit. When I do the math, my Tidus could do about 1,600,000 damage...did it really hit 8 times before it shot the final blow?

Hmm... The complete chain Lionhart hits 20+
My junctioned Squall hit the damage roof so each hit was 9999 each...

I don't feel like doing math but thats in the 100,000s.... <.<

*refuses to beleive Tidus could beat Squall*

Hah...oops. I threw in one too many "9"s. So his damage would do anywhere from 700k to 800k depending on the luck of the first 8 hits. Still the highest I've ever seen for a main character in Final Fantasy.

As one of the main characters from FF 'series' his overdrive is the best when it comes to damage dealing but it still think that it doesn't beat Squalls' though.Why?
Well first bosses in FFX have milions in Hp and thus the maximum damage is 999999.In FF8 bosses don't have That much Hp 1 mil or 2 let's say..
PLUS and this is maybe more important Squall'sRenzokuken....

(or something like that....)could be used more turns in a row + the final hit (at least until you are no longer hp critical or aura effect is gone).So as Shuni stated 20+ hits that's like 190,000 dmg a least and in 10 rounds worth it's like 1.9 mil.(Considering boss hp it is a lot).Ok it gives the same dmg in ten rounds as Blitz Ace in 1 but to fill the overdrive gauge takes a while (depending on mode and power of foe good strategy is too use comrade if boss does great damage) so it may be more or less than 10 turns...
Thus I say that Squall hasn't completely lost the battle yet
