#1 Hello I'm Huggums I’m going to teach you how to write poetry. And teach you a couple types of poetry. Poetry Poetry is the art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken, for exciting pleasure by beautiful, imaginative, or elevated thoughts. a basic poem A basic poem is a type of writing that has 6-16 stanzas. With some kind of Rhyme scheme. example Poem wrote: There once was a man from Peru who dreamed he was eating his shoe When he had woken up He found out that his dream had come true. Haiku a haiku is a major form of Japanese verse, written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, and employing highly evocative allusions and comparisons, often on the subject of nature or one of the seasons. example haiku wrote: people wish to much (5) some people are down on luck (7) Just shut up and live(5) Limerick a kind of humorous verse of five lines, in which the first, second, and fifth lines rhyme with each other, and the third and fourth lines, which are shorter, form a rhymed couplet. example Limerick wrote: There once was a young man from Kew Who found a dead mouse in his stew. Said the waiter, “Don't shout Or wave it about, Or the rest will be wanting one too!” Free verse A poem with Verses composed of variable, usually unrhymed lines having no fixed metrical pattern.
